''Zephyr'' is a video game developed and published by New World Computing for DOS. Gameplay ''Zephyr'' is a shoot 'em up that takes place in an arena, and comes with network capabilities. Reception ''Next Generation (magazine), Next Generation'' reviewed the game, rating it three stars out of five, and stated that "for those net fiends who have the urge to blow away friends over the phone line, there is some good gaming to be played here." New World Computing
New World Computing, Inc. was an American video game developer and publisher founded in 1984 by Jon Van Caneghem, his wife, Michaela Van Caneghem, and Mark Caldwell. It was best known for its work on the Might and Magic role-playing video game series and its spin-offs, especially Heroes of Might and Magic. The company was purchased by and became a division of The 3DO Company on July 10, 1996 from NTN Communications, after NTN purchased New World Computing for $10 million in stock. Amidst financial turmoil, the 3DO Company laid off a large portion of the staff of New World Computing on April 15, 2002. While a smaller, core staff remained at New World Computing, the following year saw little improvement in parent 3DO's situation, and the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May of that year.
