Zenkovsky Uyezd
Zenkovsky Uyezd (russian: Зеньковский уезд, uk, Зіньківський повіт) was a subdivision (county) of the Poltava Governorate of the Russian Empire. It was situated in the eastern part of the governorate. Its administrative centre was Zenkov (Zinkiv). The uyezd was created in 1781 within the Chernigov Viceroyalty out of parts of Hadiach Regiment which contained territory of former Zinkiv Regiment. In 1796 the uyezd was dissolved and its territory was included into the revived Little Russia Governorate. In 1803 the uyezd was reinstated already within the Poltava Governorate. In 1923 the uyezd was liquidated with introductions of raions. Demographics At the time of the Russian Empire Census of 1897, Zenkovsky Uyezd had a population of 140,304. Poltavskaya Gubernia Zenkovsky Uezd
Poltavskaya (russian: Полта́вская; ua, Полта́вська, Poltavska) is a rural locality (a ''stanitsa'') and the administrative center of Krasnoarmeysky District of Krasnodar Krai, Russia, located on the Kuban River, west of Krasnodar. Population: History Founded in 1794, it is one of the first forty settlements of Kuban Cossacks in the area. It was named after one of the 40 kurins that composed the Zaporizhian Cossacks Host. The Russian Empire was an empire and the final period of the Russian monarchy from 1721 to 1917, ruling across large parts of Eurasia. Hadiach Regiment
The Hadiach Regiment ( uk, Гадяцький полк, translit=Hadiats’kyi polk) was one of then territorial-administrative subdivisions of the Cossack Hetmanate. The regiment's capital was the city of Hadiach, now in Poltava Oblast of central Ukraine. The Hadiach Regiment was founded in 1648. In 1649 the regiment became part of Poltava Regiment. Under the hetman Ivan Briukhovetsky, Hadiach county became a new Zinkivskyi Regiment. During the early years of the 1670s the Regiment was renamed ''Hadiach Regiment''. Little Russia Governorate (1796–1802)
The Little Russia Governorate (russian: link=no, Малороссiйская Губернiя) or Government of Malorossiya was an administrative-territorial unit ( guberniya) of the Russian Empire that encompassed most of the modern North Eastern Ukraine (one of the historical definitions of Little Russia hence the name), and the adjacent regions in Russia. The Governorate was formed in 1796 under the administrative reforms of Paul I which abolished the Namestnichestvo (viceroyalty) system, which in turn replaced the regimental administration of the Ukrainian Hetmanate in 1781. This placed the Kiev Viceroyalty (excluding the city of Kyiv itself), Novgorod-Seversky Viceroyalty and Chernigov Viceroyalty under the new unit. The first general census of the population of the Russian Empire in 1897 ( pre-reform Russian: ) was the first and only nation-wide census performed in the Russian Empire (the Grand Duchy of Finland was excluded). It recorded demographic data as of . Previously, the Central Statistical Bureau issued statistical tables based on fiscal lists (ревизские списки).
