Zemlja (feudal Balkans)
''Zemlja'' (plural: ''zemlje'', anglicized: ''zemljas''; lat, terra; en, Land), was a term used in the Balkans during much of the Middle Ages as a unit in Administrative division, political-territorial state division, based on Feudalism, feudal Social stratification, social hierarchy, local administrative control and the Feudal fragmentation, feudal distribution of land. It was the largest unit of administration, which constituted a feudal state among South Slavic peoples of the Balkans at the time, Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Middle Ages, Bosnia, Medieval Croatia, Croatia, Medieval Montenegro, Montenegro (Zeta) and Medieval Serbia, Serbia. Grega Žemlja
Grega Žemlja (born 29 September 1986) is a retired Slovenian tennis player. He has won five singles titles and one doubles title on the ATP Challenger Tour. In 2012, he reached the third round of the US Open, the first Slovenian male player ever to reach that stage in a Grand Slam tournament. He is also the first Slovenian ATP player who in 2013 reached third round at Wimbledon. He reached his highest ATP ranking of World No. 43 in singles in May 2013, becoming the first Slovene ATP player to reach the top 50. Žemlja also became the first Slovene player earning over 1 million US dollars in prize money, and he was the highest-paid Slovene player in history until he was passed by Blaž Kavčič. The Earth Group ( hr, Grupa Zemlja) was a Croatian arts collective active in Zagreb, Croatia from 1929 to 1935, when it was banned. The group aimed to defend their artistic independence against foreign influences such as Impressionism or Neoclassicism and '' art for art's sake''. They maintained that art should mirror the social milieu from which it springs and should meet contemporary needs, hence their emphasis on the popularization of art, both at home and abroad. In spite of its ideologically heterogeneous membership, the group was considered Marxist in orientation but never espoused socialist realism.
