Zehra Güneş
Zehra Güneş (; born 7 July 1999) is a Turkish professional volleyball player. She plays in the middle blocker position. Currently, she plays for Vakıfbank Istanbul and is a member of the Turkey women's national volleyball team. Playing career Club In the 2016–17 Turkish Women's Volleyball League season, Zehra Güneş was loaned out to Beşiktaş J.K., another women's volleyball team. The next season, she returned to her home club. She enjoyed her first league champion title in the 2017–18 season with Vakıfbank Istanbul. She was awarded the "Vestel Special Prize" of the 2017–18 Vestel Venus Sultans League, which is the Turkish top-level volleyball league sponsored by Vestel. She participated at the 2017–18 CEV Women's Champions League with her team Vakıfbank Istanbul, which became champion. Kartal
Kartal is a district of Istanbul, Turkey, located on the Asian side of the city, on the coast of the Marmara Sea between Maltepe and Pendik. 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League
The 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League was the inaugural edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League, a new annual international women's volleyball tournament contested by 16 national teams that replaced the former World Grand Prix in the international calendar. The competition was held between May and July 2018, and the final round took place in the Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre, Nanjing, China. Six-time World Grand Prix winners, United States won the inaugural edition, defeating Turkey in five sets on the final. This was Turkey's first ever final on a senior world-level premier competition (World Championship, World Cup, Summer Olympic Games and the aforementioned Grand Prix). 2017–18 CEV Women's Champions League
The CEV Champions League was the highest level of European club volleyball in the 2017–18 season and the 58th edition. The Turkish club VakıfBank Istanbul won its fourth overall and second consecutive title. The Romanian club CSM Volei Alba Blaj won the silver medal and Italian Imoco Volley Conegliano claimed the bronze medal. 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship
The 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship was the third and final edition of the international volleyball tournament and the world championship for women's national teams under the age of 23, organized by the sport's world governing body, FIVB. The tournament was hosted by Slovenia in the city of Ljubljana from 10 September to 17 September 2017. 12 teams from the 5 confederations competed in the tournament. Turkey defeated the home team in straight sets in the final to claim their first title in the competition. Bulgaria won the bronze medal outclassing Dominican Republic 4–2. FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship
The FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship was the world championship of volleyball for female players under the age of 23 organized by Fédération Internationale de Volleyball ( FIVB). The first edition was staged in 2013 in Mexicali and Tijuana, Mexico and tournaments were played every two years until 2017. The last tournament was hosted by Turkey in Ankara and won by Brazil. FIVB did not announce the 2019 edition of the U23 tournament, later declaring that "As per decision of May 2019 FIVB Board of Administration, the U23 WCH has been abolished."
