Zefyri railway station ( el, Σιδηροδρομικός σταθμός Ζεφυρίου, Sidirodromikos Stathmos Zefyriou) is a station on the Athens Airport-Patras railway line in Zefyri, a suburb in the north-central part of Athens, Greece. Located inside a tunnel on the islet of Attiki Odos, The station opened on 10 May 2018 and is served by the Athens Suburban Railway. History The station, whose operation started at 5:49 AM on 10 May 2018, after a long delay was constructed by ERGOSE within the existing cutting, as the line open several years prior. Built using the cut & cover metherd, it was an independent technical object of the project: Zefyriou "(Α.Σ. 541/13). Facilities The station has a ticket office. At platform level, seating and information boards are available, with access to the platforms via life or escalator. There is a bus stop outside the station where the local 735 calls. Zefyri
Zefyri ( el, Ζεφύρι) is a suburb of Athens and former municipality in West Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Fyli, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 1.400 km2. Zefyri is situated near the northeastern end of the Aigaleo mountains. Its built-up area is continuous with those of the neighbouring suburbs Ano Liosia, Acharnes and Kamatero. The Motorway 6 passes through Zefyri, by the 440 m cut and cover Zefyri Tunnel. Zefyri is 2 km southeast of Ano Liosia, 2 km southwest of Acharnes and about 10 km north of Athens city centre. The old metric Piraeus–Patras railway and the new Athens Airport–Patras railway pass through Zefyri. The earthquake of 7 September 1999 damaged some tens of homes. Line 2 (Athens Metro)
Line 2 of the Athens Metro runs entirely underground from in the northwest to in the south, via . It first opened, between and , on 28 January 2000, with Line 3. On 6 April 2013, Line 2 was extended to Anthoupoli in the north west, and on 26 July 2013 to Elliniko to the south.
