Coronation Street
''Coronation Street'' is an English soap opera created by Granada Television and shown on ITV since 9 December 1960. The programme centres around a cobbled, terraced street in Weatherfield, a fictional town based on inner-city Salford. Originally broadcast twice weekly, the series began airing six times a week in 2017. The programme was conceived by scriptwriter Tony Warren. Warren's initial proposal was rejected by the station's founder Sidney Bernstein, but he was persuaded by producer Harry Elton to produce the programme for 13 pilot episodes, and the show has since become a significant part of English culture. Justin Moorhouse (born 15 May 1970) is an English stand-up comedian, radio DJ and actor from Manchester. He appeared in ''Phoenix Nights'', ''Looking for Eric'' and Guess The Attendance. Moorhouse has also appeared as a guest on the Dave TV series '' As Yet Untitled'' with Alan Davies. Career Moorhouse was a salesman for many years before contacting a comedy club, the Frog and Bucket in Oldham Street, Manchester and performing a stand up comedy routine, aged 29. In 2002, he competed in a local comedy competition held at the Southern pub in Chorlton, winning the final held at the Comedy Store Manchester. Antony Cotton
Antony Cotton (born Antony Dunn; 5 August 1975) is an English actor, known for portraying the role of Sean Tully in ''Coronation Street'', as well as portraying Alexander Perry in the original '' Queer as Folk'' series. In 2007, Cotton hosted his own talk show titled ''That Antony Cotton Show'', which was cancelled after one series. In March 2013, he won ''Let's Dance for Comic Relief''. Sean Tully is a fictional character from the British soap opera ''Coronation Street'', played by Antony Cotton. He made his first appearance during the episode broadcast on 13 July 2003. Following that appearance, the character returned full-time on 12 April 2004. Storylines Sean is introduced as a gay colleague of Martin Platt ( Sean Wilson) and Karl Foster (Chris Finch). Paula Lane (born 17 April 1986) is an English actress. She is known for portraying the role of Kylie Platt in the ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'' from 2010 to 2016. Early life Lane is originally from Hebden Bridge near Halifax. Lane attended Catholic High School in Halifax and then Huddersfield Technical College. At the age of 19 she was accepted to train at the prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama in London, graduating in 2008 with a 1st class honours degree in acting. On finishing drama school, Lane was cast immediately in the ITV 1960s-based drama '' Heartbeat'' where she made her television debut playing a teacher, Wendy Kelshaw, in the episode 'School Of Hard Knocks'.
