Zdeněk Bobrovský
Zdeněk Bobrovský (1 December 1933 – 21 November 2014) was a Czech basketball player. He was voted to the Czechoslovakian 20th Century Team. National team career With the senior Czechoslovakian national team, Bobrovský competed in the men's tournament at the 1952 Summer Olympics and the 1960 Summer Olympics. The 1951 FIBA European Championship, commonly called FIBA EuroBasket 1951, was the seventh FIBA EuroBasket regional basketball championship, held by FIBA. Eighteen national teams affiliated with the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) entered the competition, a record number and more than twice the number that had competed two years earlier. The competition was hosted by France, who had taken second place at EuroBasket 1949, behind 1949 hosts Egypt. Basketball at the 1960 Summer Olympics was the fifth appearance of the sport of basketball as an official Olympic medal event. 16 nations were admitted into the Olympic tournament, with many others being eliminated in a pre-Olympic tournament held earlier in the year from 13 to 20 August 1960 at the Land Rover Arena at Bologna. 64 games of basketball were played in the Olympic tournament that was held at the Palazzetto dello Sport and PalaLottomatica, both in Rome. The 16 teams were split up into four groups for the preliminary round. Each team played every other team in its group once. Rosice
Rosice (; german: Rossitz) is a town in Brno-Country District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 6,500 inhabitants. Geography Rosice is located about southwest of Brno. It lies in the Boskovice Furrow. The Bobrava River flows through the town. History The first written mention of Rosice is from 1259. The most prominent owners of the manor were the Zierotins, who acquired it in 1562 and built a castle here. In 1907, Rosice was promoted to a town by Franz Joseph I of Austria.
