Zdeněk Fibich
Zdeněk Fibich (, 21 December 1850 in Všebořice – 15 October 1900 in Prague) was a Czech composer of classical music. Among his compositions are chamber works (including two string quartets, a piano trio, piano quartet and a quintet for piano, strings and winds), symphonic poems, three symphonies, at least seven operas (the most famous probably '' Šárka'' and '' The Bride of Messina''), melodramas including the substantial trilogy ''Hippodamia'', liturgical music including a mass – a ''missa brevis''; and a large cycle (a total of 376 pieces, from the 1890s) of piano works called ''Moods, Impressions, and Reminiscences''. The piano cycle served as a diary of sorts of his love for a piano pupil, and one of the pieces formed the basis for the short instrumental work ''Poème'', for which Fibich is best remembered today. Zdeněk Michael František Burian (11 February 1905 in Kopřivnice, Moravia, Austria-Hungary – 1 July 1981 in Prague, Czechoslovakia) was a Czech painter, book illustrator and palaeoartist whose work played a central role in the development of palaeontological reconstruction. Originally recognised only in his native Czechoslovakia, Burian's fame later spread to an international audience during a remarkable career spanning six decades (1930s to 1980s). Zdeněk Hedrlín
Zdeněk Hedrlín (1933 – April 22, 2018) was a Czech mathematician, specializing in universal algebra and combinatorial theory, both in pure and applied mathematics. Zdeněk Hedrlín received his PhD from Prague's Charles University in 1963. His thesis on commutative semigroups was supervised by Miroslav Katětov. Hedrlín held the title of ''Docent'' (associated professor) at Charles University. There he worked at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics for over 60 years until he died at age 85. He was among the first Czech mathematicians to do research on category theory. In 1970 Hedrlín was an Invited Speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Nice. In the later part of his career, he focused on applications of relational structures and led very successful special and interdisciplinary seminars. Zdeněk Fierlinger
Zdeněk Fierlinger (11 July 1891 – 2 May 1976) was a Czechoslovak diplomat and politician. He served as the prime minister of Czechoslovakia from 1944 to 1946, first in the London-based exiled government and later in liberated Czechoslovakia. His name is often associated with the merger of his Social Democratic Party with the Czechoslovak Communist Party after the communist coup in 1948. He was the uncle of Paul Fierlinger, the famous animator for numerous PBS cartoons. Zdeněk Frolík (March 10, 1933 – May 3, 1989) was a Czech mathematician. His research interests included topology and functional analysis. In particular, his work concerned covering properties of topological spaces, ultrafilters, homogeneity, measures, uniform spaces. He was one of the founders of modern descriptive theory of sets and spaces. Jan Zdeněk Bartoš (4 June 1908, Dvůr Králové nad Labem – 1 June 1981, Prague) was a Czechs, Czech composer. Biography Bartoš started to play the violin as a pupil of Karel Hršel in Hradec Králové. In 1924, after he graduated from business school, Bartoš left for France. He played as a concertmaster of the ''Messageries Maritimes'' naval company in Marseille. From 1929 to 1931 he travelled with that company to Africa, Asia and Madagascar. Following his return, he studied music theory with Otakar Šín and Jaroslav Křička at the Prague Conservatory. He graduated in 1943. From 1956 he worked at the Czech Ministry of Education and taught Musical composition, composition and music theory at the Prague Conservatory. Zdeněk Hruška (born 25 July 1954 in Prague) is a former Czechoslovak footballer and an active football manager. As a goalkeeper who spent the longest part of his career with Bohemians Prague Hruška had 24 appearances for Czechoslovakia and participated at the 1982 FIFA World Cup. Playing career Hruška started his career at Slavoj Vyšehrad which he left in 1974 in order to undergo a 2 years of military service.
