Zazas
The Zazas (also known as Kird, Kirmanc or Dimili) are a people in eastern Turkey who traditionally speak the Zaza language, a western Iranian language written in the Latin script. Their heartland consists of Tunceli and Bingöl provinces and parts of Elazığ, Erzincan and Diyarbakır provinces. Zazas generally consider themselves Kurds, and are often described as Zaza Kurds by scholars. Etymology and naming According to ''Encyclopædia Iranica'' the endonym ''Dimlī'' or ''Dīmla'' was derived from Daylam region in Northern Iran, and appears in Armenian historical records as ''delmik'', ''dlmik'', which was proposed to be derived from Middle Iranian ''*dēlmīk'' meaning Daylamite. Among their neighbors the people are known mainly as Zāzā, which meant “ stutterer” and was used as a pejorative. Zaza Language
Zaza or Zazaki (), is an Iranian language spoken primarily in eastern Turkey by the Zazas. The language is a part of the Zaza–Gorani language group of the northwestern group of the Iranian branch. The glossonym Zaza originated as a pejorative and many Zazas call their language Dimlî. While Zaza is linguistically more closely related to Gorani, Gilaki, Talysh, Tati, Mazandarani and the Semnani language, Kurdish has had a profound impact on the language due to centuries of interaction, which have blurred the boundaries between the two languages. Zaza Pachulia ( ka, ზაზა ფაჩულია; born Zaur Pachulia; February 10, 1984) is a Georgian professional basketball executive and former player who is a basketball operations consultant for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He won two NBA championships with the Warriors in 2017 and 2018. He has played for the Georgia national team, captaining them in multiple tournaments. Zaza–Gorani Languages
Zaza–Gorani is a linguistic subgroup of Northwestern Iranian languages. They are usually classified as a non-Kurdish branch of the Northwestern Iranian languages but most of their speakers consider themselves ethnic Kurds. The Zaza–Gorani languages are the Zaza and the Gorani languages, whereas Gorani is composed of four dialects being Hawrami, Bajelani, Shabaki and Sarli. Zaza Rusadze ( ka, ზაზა რუსაძე; born 24 May 1977 in Tbilisi, Georgia) is a film-maker, who lives in Tbilisi and Berlin, Germany. He is a member of the Georgian artists group Goslab. Career From 1989 to 1994, in his teenager years, Rusadze worked as anchorperson on Georgian TV for a youth program. Zaza Urushadze ( ka, ზაზა ურუშაძე; 30 October 1965 — 7 December 2019) was a Georgian film director, screenwriter and producer. Biography Zaza Urushadze was a son of Ramaz Urushadze, a famous Soviet football goalkeeper. He was born on 30 October 1965, in Tbilisi, Georgia. Zaza "Grom" Tkeshelashvili (Georgian: ზაზა ტყეშელაშვილი; born March 19, 1965) is a Georgian retired Freestyle wrestling Olympic competitor (100 kg) for Georgia in 1996 Olympic Games Atlanta and mixed martial artist. Zaza Panaskerteli-Tsitsishvili
Zaza Panaskerteli-Tsitsishvili ( ka, ზაზა ფანასკერტელ-ციციშვილი) was a 15th-century Georgian prince, politician, and man of letters known for his compendia of medical arts ''Karabadini'' (''Book of Medical Treatment''). He is described as “the great healer and head of the wise” in a contemporary record. Zaza belonged to the old aristocratic family Panaskerteli, originally owners of the frontier region of Panaskerti. He then resettled into the Georgian heartland, founding the house of Tsitsishvili. Zaza was apparently involved in Georgia's politics and culture, but not much is known of his life.
