Zavala (producer)
Alexander Zavala, better known mononymously by his stage name Zavala, is an American hip hop and electronica record producer from Chicago, Illinois. He is a founding member of the hip hop duo Dark Time Sunshine alongside Onry Ozzborn. Musical career Zavala first came to attention in 2009 when he released the collaborative album ''Canciones Modernas'' with PNS of Molemen. The same year, he produced numerous tracks on Sleep's album Hesitation Wounds, his debut on Strange Famous Records. Through working with Sleep, he met Onry Ozzborn, who featured on ''Hesitation Wounds'' as Grayskul. The two soon became fans of each other's work and began working with each other, eventually leading to the creation of the duo Dark Time Sunshine. Together they released three albums in three years, one of which being Anx. For every album released, Zavala also released an instrumental version as well. Strange Famous Records
Strange Famous Records is an indie hip hop record label based in Providence, Rhode Island. It was founded by Sage Francis. Artists on its roster include B. Dolan, Cecil Otter, Prolyphic, and Sleep, among others. History Strange Famous Records started out in 1996 as a way for Sage Francis to release music. Originally this involved tape dubbing and photocopying covers. In 1999, while working at the radio station WRIU (90.3 FM), he was allowed access to the station's computers and CD-Rs replaced the tapes. The albums were sold locally, raising money to press CDs at a manufacturing plant. In late 2005, Strange Famous Records enlisted the help of outside parties to create an online webstore www.strangefamousrecords.com. The online store was soon developed and a mail order business was set into effect. This was a "cash only" postal mail service. The Chicharones are an American/Canadian alternative hip hop duo, composed of Sleep of Oldominion and Josh Martinez, and are usually accompanied by DJ Zone. They are known for their socially conscious lyrics, energetic live performances and strong underground following.
