Zaprešić () is a town in Zagreb County, in Croatia. It has a population of 19,644 inhabitants in the city proper, town proper, with 25,223 in the administrative area. The town's metropolitan area, which encompasses the seven neighbouring municipalities, has a population of 54,640. Željko Turk () (born 25 March 1962 in Zagreb) is the mayor of Zaprešić, a town in Zagreb County, Croatia. Business career Turk began his working career in Regeneracija factory, in town of Zabok. In 1991 he founded his own private company centered around textile production and trade. Political career He became the mayor in 2006. He is affiliated with the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ). Velika Gorica () is the largest and most populous city in Zagreb County, Croatia. According to the 2011 census, the city itself has a population of 31,341, and the municipality has a population of 63,517 inhabitants. Velika Gorica is the centre of the historical Turopolje region.
