Zapis (album)
'' Zapis'' (trans. ''Inscription'') is the sixth and latest studio album from Serbian and Yugoslav hard rock band Kerber, released in 1996. Background and recording ''Zapis'' was recorded after the hiatus in the band's work caused by the outbreak of the Yugoslav Wars. It was recorded from October to December 1995 in PGP-RTS Studio V and produced by Vladimir Negovanović. All the album lyrics were written by the band's old associate Duško Arsenijević, ''Zapis'' being Kerber's second album to feature all the lyrics written by him, the first one being the band's fourth studio album, ''Ljudi i bogovi'' (''Humans and Gods''). The album was recorded with three new members, bass guitarist Saša Vasković (who came in as the replacement for Branko Isaković), acoustic guitar player Vladan Stanojević and percussionist Goran Đorđević. Kerber ( sr-cyr, Кербер, lit= Cerberus) is a Serbian and Yugoslav hard rock band formed in Niš in 1981. The mainstay members of Kerber are vocalist Goran Šepa "Gale", guitarist Tomislav "Tomica" Nikolić and keyboardist Branislav "Bane" Božinović. The band's debut album, released in 1983, brought them nationwide popularity. Their following releases launched them to the top of the Yugoslav hard rock scene, with a number of their songs becoming hits, especially their power ballads with poetic lyrics written by lyricist Duško Arsenijević. Their sound has evolved from heavy rock on their debut album towards melodic hard rock on their other 1980s releases. The band released their latest studio album in 1996 and during the 2000s performed occasionally only. In early 2010s the band returned to live performances and releasing new material. The LP (from "long playing" or "long play") is an analog sound storage medium, a phonograph record format characterized by: a speed of rpm; a 12- or 10-inch (30- or 25-cm) diameter; use of the "microgroove" groove specification; and a vinyl (a copolymer of vinyl chloride acetate) composition disk. Marija Nikolić ( sr, Маја Николић, born 11 April 1975 in Niš, Serbia, Yugoslavia), better known as Maja Nikolić, is a Serbian singer and reality television personality. Life and career Early life Marija Nikolić was born in Sarajevo on 11 April 1975 into a family of musicians and from an early age showed interest in music. At seven years of age, Nikolić started participating in children's music festivals with her brother. She won several first prizes and was offered a recording contract with the Zagreb-based label Jugoton, which she lost due to Warfare in Yugoslavia. Hammond Organ
The Hammond organ is an electric organ invented by Laurens Hammond and John M. Hanert and first manufactured in 1935. Multiple models have been produced, most of which use sliding drawbars to vary sounds. Until 1975, Hammond organs generated sound by creating an electric current from rotating a metal tonewheel near an electromagnetic pickup, and then strengthening the signal with an amplifier to drive a speaker cabinet. The organ is commonly used with the Leslie speaker. Around two million Hammond organs have been manufactured. The organ was originally marketed by the Hammond Organ Company to churches as a lower-cost alternative to the wind-driven pipe organ, or instead of a piano. Branko Isaković
Branko Isaković (born June 24, 1958) is a Serbian bass player, producer and composer of Balkan ambient beat. After a long career in pop, rock, and ethno bands he launched his ''Divine Sound'' project with healing music. Biography Isaković was born in Valjevo in 1958 and moved to Belgrade in 1961. His first interest in music came about 1970 when his school friend, today well known guitar player and producer Dušan "Duda" Bezuha needed a rhythm guitarist for his rhythm and blues band. Having finished high school Isaković joined the acoustic rock band Suncokret as a replacement for Bata Sokić who went to serve the army. Isaković left the band in 1978.
