Zao (American Band)
Zao () is an American metalcore band founded in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and later relocated to Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Founded in March 1993, Zao has hosted several musicians and endured numerous roster changes to the point where no original members remain. Former drummer Jesse Smith, vocalist Dan Weyandt, and guitarists Scott Mellinger and Russ Cogdell are seen by some fans as the "core" of Zao, with the current line up being the longest running in the band's history. For a time, the band featured Christian themes in their music and was regarded as a Christian band, however this theme was eventually met with debate among the members and the band currently no longer considers themselves a "Christian band" with only bassist Martin Lunn identifying as a Christian. To date, Zao has released 11 full-length albums, 9 EPs or splits, a two-disc DVD documentary and embarked on numerous concert tours, garnering a limited but global fan base and earning critical praise in the pr ...

Mount Zaō
The , commonly called Mount Zaō, are a complex cluster of stratovolcanoes on the border between Yamagata Prefecture and Miyagi Prefecture in Japan. The central volcano of the group includes several lava domes and a tuff cone, Goshiki-dake, which contains a crater lake named " Okama". Also known as the "Five Color Pond" ( 五色沼, ''goshiki numa'') because it changes color depending on the weather, it lies in a crater formed by a volcanic eruption in the 1720s. The lake is in diameter and deep, and is one of the main tourist attractions in the area. One striking feature of Zaō's famous ski resorts are the "frost-covered trees" ( 樹氷, juhyō) that appear in mid-winter. Strong wind over the nearby lake fling water droplets which freeze against the trees and their branches, until near-horizontal icicles begin to form. Falling snow settles on the ice formations, and the end result is a grotesque figure of a tree. The effect of a full forest of such trees gives visitors a ...

5751 Zao
5751 Zao, provisional designation , is an Amor asteroid discovered by Japanese astronomer M. Koishikawa at the Ayashi Station of the Sendai Astronomical Observatory on 5 January 1992 Physical properties ''Zao'' has been observed by several groups to determine its rotational period. Its light curve was observed by Pravec, et al. between 1992 and 1995 with the intention of determining its rotational period. From its nearly constant brightness it was determined that the asteroid is roughly spherical and has a rotational period of ≥ 21.7  hr. Another group led by Wisniewski conducted an approximately 5 hour observation and were unable to conclude a rotational period. ''Zao'' was again observed in 2001 by Delbó, et al. using the Keck telescope. They were able to determine the asteroid's albedo of 0.36 and re-classify the asteroid from X-type to E-type. Using the asteroid's albedo and the Near Earth Asteroid Thermal Model (NEATM) the asteroid's diameter In g ...

They may depict real or fictional people and are considered a form of synthetic media, that is media that is usually created by artificial intelligence systems by combining various media elements into a new media artifact. While the act of creating fake content is not new, deepfakes uniquely leverage machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques, including facial recognition algorithms and artificial neural networks such as variational autoencoders (VAEs) and generative adversarial networks (GANs). In turn, the field of image forensics develops techniques to detect manipulated images. Deepfakes have garnered widespread attention for their potential use in creating child sexual abuse material, celebrity pornographic videos, revenge porn, fake news, hoaxes, bullying, and financial fraud.
