Zaniar Moradi
Zaniar Moradi ( fa, زانیار مرادی, 1987 – 8 September 2018) was a Kurd political prisoner from Marivan, Iran who was detained in 2009 along with his cousin Loghman Moradi. They were both executed on 8 September 2018 on the charge of killing the son of the Imam of Marivan's Friday prayers imam. Amnesty International has said that the men had been denied access to legal counsel after being arrested. After their sentences were issued, they wrote in a letter that they were forced to confess under duress and torture and that they had not played a part in the assassination. Moradi maintained that for nine months after his initial arrest, authorities had detained him for membership of the Komala Party. Gohardasht Prison
Gohardasht Prison ( fa, زندان گوهردشت) is a prison in Gohardasht, a town in the northern outskirt of Karaj, approximately 20 km (12 miles) west of Tehran. Sometimes spelled Gohar Dasht Prison, it is also known as ''"Rajai Shahr"'', ''Rajaishahr'', ''Raja’i Shahr'', ''Reja’i Shahr'', ''Rajayi Shahr'', ''Rajaee Shahr'', ''Rajaei Shahr'' or ''"Rajaï Shahr Prison"'', etc. and sometimes as Karadj or Karaj prison (but Qezel Hesar prison is also near Karaj). In Google Maps it is listed as "Rajai-Shahr Prison, Karaj, Tehran, Iran". Political prisoners and prisoners of conscience tend to be sent to Ward 12 of Rajai Shahr. The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran is a United Nations Special Rapporteur whose mandate is to monitor and investigate human rights violations in Iran. The current Special Rapporteur is Javaid Rehman.
