VBC Zandhoven
Volleybalclub Zandhoven is a Belgium, Belgian women's volleyball club based in Zandhoven. The women's A squad played in Honour Division between 2007 and 2011. Their first season was surprisingly quite successful, with a place in the sub top as a result. However, due to the financially stronger top clubs, and under the influence of the Flanders, Flemish volleyball school in Vilvoorde, Zandhoven saw quite some players leave to Asterix Kieldrecht and VDK Gent Dames, VDK Gent. The loss of quality also showed last season, when a final 8th place was reached. VBC Zandhoven were obliged to relegate from Honour Division at the end of the 2010-11 season after the national volleyball association saw Zandhoven's sport hall unfit for further top volleyball, as no improvements were planned in the near future. The Arrondissement of Antwerp (; ) is one of the three administrative arrondissements in Antwerp Province, Belgium. It is both an administrative and a judicial arrondissement. The territory of the Judicial Arrondissement of Antwerp coincides with that of the Administrative Arrondissement of Antwerp. History The Arrondissement of Antwerp was created in 1800 as the first arrondissement in the Department of Deux-Nèthes (). Grobbendonk () is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp ( nl, Antwerpen). The municipality comprises the towns of Bouwel and Grobbendonk proper. Nijlen () is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the towns of , Kessel and Nijlen proper. In 2021, Nijlen had a total population of 22,985. The total area is 39.09 km2. History In 1770, a hoard of golden coins dating from Julius Caesar to Titus Flavius Domitianus was discovered. Nijlen was first mentioned in 1146 as having possessions of Tongerlo Abbey. The village was damaged during the Reformation and nearly depopulated. In the 18th century, there was a population increase which accelerated after the railway station on the line from Antwerp to Herentals opened in 1853. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996.
