Zander Sutherland
Alexander Sutherland (born 7 September 1987) is a Scottish former professional footballer who last played for Brora Rangers. Born in Wick, he grew up in the village of Helmsdale in Sutherland. He made his début for Inverness Caledonian Thistle in a home game against Falkirk. In the next season, Sutherland's appearances were limited by then manager Charlie Christie. His first game of the season saw him come on as a substitute against Dunfermline Athletic in September. However, he did not play with the first team again until December in a game against Kilmarnock. He conceded a penalty kick which was the winning goal in a 4–3 win for Killie. Sutherland did not play again until April, against Kilmarnock again and then Dunfermline again in May. He scored his first goal for the club in July 2007, in a pre-season victory over Clachnacuddin. Wick, Highland
Wick ( gd, Inbhir Ùige (IPA: inivɪɾʲˈuːkʲə, sco, Week) is a town and royal burgh in Caithness, in the far north of Scotland. The town straddles the River Wick and extends along both sides of Wick Bay. "Wick Locality" had a population of 6,954 at the time of the 2011 census, a decrease of 3.8% from 2001. Pulteneytown, which was developed on the south side of the river by the British Fisheries Society during the 19th century, was officially merged into the burgh in 1902. Elzy was described as on the coast a couple of miles east of Wick in 1836. The town is on the main road (the A99–A9 road) linking John o' Groats with southern Britain. A penalty kick (commonly known as a penalty or a spot kick) is a method of restarting play in association football, in which a player is allowed to take a single shot at the goal while it is defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. It is awarded when an offence punishable by a direct free kick is committed by a player in their own penalty area. The shot is taken from the penalty mark, which is 11 m (12 yards) from the goal line and centred between the touch lines. Procedure The ball is placed on the penalty mark, regardless of where in the penalty area the foul occurred. The player taking the kick must be identified to the referee. Scottish Football League Third Division
The Scottish Football League Third Division was the fourth tier of the Scottish football league system between 1994 and 2013. History The Scottish football league system had operated with three divisions in the Scottish Football League (SFL) from 1975. In 1994, as part of reconstruction to allow the admission of Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Ross County to the league, the SFL was recalibrated to give four divisions of 10 teams. The fourth tier was named the Third Division. In 1998, the Premier Division (top flight) clubs broke away to form the Scottish Premier League (SPL). The Third Division continued as the fourth tier of the league system, but was now the third tier of the SFL. In 2013, the SFL and SPL merged to form the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL).
