Zamboanga Sibugay's 1st Congressional District
Zamboanga Sibugay's 1st congressional district is one of the two congressional districts of the Philippines in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay. It has been represented in the House of Representatives since 2007. It was created after the 2006 reapportionment that divided the province into two congressional districts. The district is composed of the eastern municipalities of Alicia, Buug, Diplahan, Imelda, Mabuhay, Malangas, Olutanga, Payao and Talusan. It is currently represented in the 19th Congress by Wilter Palma of the Lakas–CMD. Lakas–CMD
Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats, abbreviated as Lakas–CMD and also known simply as Lakas, is a political party in the Philippines. Lakas–CMD is considered to sit on the centre-right of the political spectrum, and is influenced by Christian democracy and Islamic democracy. Since the 2022 elections, Lakas–CMD is currently the biggest party in the House of Representatives, with the party's president, Martin Romualdez, serving as Speaker of the House. Wilter "Sharky" Wee Palma II, (born August 4, 1982) is a Filipino politician from the province of Zamboanga Sibugay. He is served as a Member of the Philippine House of Representatives representing the First District of Zamboanga Sibugay from 2016 to 2022. Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (), abbreviated as Lakas–CMD and popularly known as Lakas, was a political party in the Philippines. Its ideology and that of its successor is heavily influenced by Christian and Islamic democracy. Zamboanga Sibugay's At-large Congressional District
Zamboanga Sibugay's at-large congressional district was the lone congressional district of the Philippines in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay for the House of Representatives from 2001 to 2007. It was created after the passage of Republic Act No. 8973 in 2000 which partitioned the province of Zamboanga del Sur and established the province of Zamboanga Sibugay.
