Zambia At The 2019 African Games
Zambia competed at the 2019 African Games held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. In total, athletes representing Zambia won one gold medal, one silver medal and three bronze medals and the country finished in 24th place in the medal table. The flag of Zambia is the national flag of Zambia. It was adopted upon independence on 24 October 1964, by the first Republican President Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda. Sydney Sido Siame (born 7 October 1997) is a Zambian sprinter. He competed in the 200 metres at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing without advancing from the first round. In addition, he won a gold medal at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics. A run of 9.88 seconds was recorded for the 100 m in Lusaka in 2017, but Siame's time was excluded from the global lists on the basis of doubtful timing. Rhoda Njobvu (born 29 January 1994) is a Zambian athlete who specializes in sprinting. Athletics career Njobvu gained her first international experience at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where she was eliminated from the 400m with 57.47 seconds in the first round. In 2016, she made it to the semi-finals at the African Championships in Durban in the 200m. At the 2018 African Championships in Asaba, Delta, she again reached the semi-finals, this time in the 100m, in addition, she won the bronze medal in the 4x400m relay, setting a national record in the process with 3.38.18s.
