Anson Goodyear
Anson Conger Goodyear (June 20, 1877 – April 24, 1964) was an American manufacturer, businessman, author, and philanthropist and member of the Goodyear family. He is best known as one of the founding members and first president of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Early life and education Goodyear was born in Buffalo, New York, on June 20, 1877. Conger was the eldest of four children born to Charles Waterhouse Goodyear (1846-1911), a wealthy businessman who was friends with President Grover Cleveland, and Ella Portia Conger (1863-1940). The family, who were very prominent in Western New York, resided at 888 Delaware Avenue in Buffalo. He was educated at the Nichols School in Buffalo. He graduated from Yale University in 1899. Zaidee Jackson (December 30, 1897 – December 15, 1970) was an American-born jazz, spiritual and traditional pop singer, dancer and actress who performed in the United States and Europe. From 1938 to 1956 she lived and worked in Romania. Accused of being a Communist, her American passport was revoked and she could only return to the United States following a successful appeal filed by the American Civil Liberties Union with the Board of Immigration Appeals. ''Dying to Live'' (2018) is an Australian feature-length documentary film directed by Richard Todd. It reveals how Australia lags behind similar countries in organ and tissue donor registration numbers, and features Australian organ and tissue donors and recipients from Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland. Production The film was produced by Richard Todd of Aquarius Productions and Ben McNeill of Intrinsic Story, and was directed by Todd.
