Zahna-Elster
Zahna-Elster is a town in the district of Wittenberg, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It was formed on 1 January 2011 by the merger of the former municipalities Zahna, Dietrichsdorf, Elster (Elbe) Elster is a village and a former municipality in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany located in Wittenberg district. Since 1 January 2011, it is part of the town Zahna-Elster. Zahna
Zahna is a town and a former municipality in Wittenberg district in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany not far from Federal Highway (''Bundesstraße'') B 2 and about 11 km east of Lutherstadt Wittenberg. It was the seat of the former administrative community (''Verwaltungsgemeinschaft'') of Elbaue-Fläming. Since 1 January 2011, it is part of the town Zahna-Elster. History Zahna is one of Saxony-Anhalt's oldest towns. It has been proved that Zahna has been inhabited uninterruptedly since about 2000 BC. This has been established by archaeological findings from the 6th century BC up until the migration of the Semnoni who settled in the region. After them came the Sorbs who took over their homes. Gadegast
Gadegast is a village and a former municipality in Wittenberg district in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 January 2011, it is part of the town Zahna-Elster. The municipality belonged to the administrative municipality (''Verwaltungsgemeinschaft'') of Elbaue-Fläming. Geography Gadegast lies about 17 km east of Lutherstadt Wittenberg. History Gadegast had its first documentary mention in 1385. In 1508, the name was written ''Gathegast'', and in 1550 ''Gategast''. The community lay until 1815 in the Saxon ''Amt (subnational entity), Amt'' of Seyda, whereafter it became Prussian. In 1550, 32 men who owned property lived in the community, among them 18 gardeners who were directly under the ''Amt's'' authority. The village had its own court seat and judge. Listerfehrda is a village and a former municipality in Wittenberg district in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 January 2011, it is part of the town Zahna-Elster. Before that the municipality belonged to the administrative municipality (''Verwaltungsgemeinschaft'') of Elbaue-Fläming. Mühlanger is a village and a former municipality in Wittenberg district in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 January 2014, it is part of the town Zahna-Elster. Elster (Elbe)
Elster is a village and a former municipality in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany located in Wittenberg district. Since 1 January 2011, it is part of the town Zahna-Elster. From 2005 until 2011 it belonged to the administrative municipality (''Verwaltungsgemeinschaft'') of Elbaue-Fläming, before 2005 it belonged to the administrative community of Elster-Seyda-Klöden. Geography and transport The community lies about 15 km east of Wittenberg and 10 km west of Jessen. Wittenberg (district)
Wittenberg is a district (german: Kreis) in the east of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.
