The park is habitat for 112 bird species, 46 reptile species, 62 species of amphibians and 48 species of mammals, including 13 species of lemurs. The ethnic groups inhabiting the area are mostly Betsimisaraka and Sihanak. At Madagascar is the world's List of island countries, second-largest island country, after Indonesia. The nation is home to around 30 million inhabitants and consists of the island of Geography of Madagascar, Madagascar (the List of islands by area, fourth-largest island in the world), along with numerous smaller peripheral islands. Following the prehistoric breakup of the supercontinent Gondwana, Madagascar split from the Indian subcontinent around 90 million years ago, allowing native plants and animals to evolve in relative isolation. Paroedura Masobe
''Paroedura masobe'', also called masobe gecko, is an Endangered species, endangered species of reptile from the genus of geckos. They are the most abundant species in the Gecko family and are known for their white-speckled dark skin and big eyes. The average life span of the Paroedura masobe is approximately eight years. The average length of the masobe gecko is . Lizards in the genus of the Paroedura are the most deceptive in comparison to Nocturnality, nocturnal geckos in the region of Madagascar. This rare species are mainly kept and bred in captivity by scientists who engage in herpetoculture. Gunther was the first to describe this genus on the discovery of the P. sanctijohannis. Later Dixon and Kroll discovered nine species of Paroedura. They identified features that diagnosed the group of Gunthers leaf-toed forms. These features included the Ossification, coossification of the skin to the underlying skull, fused nasal bones, paired Parietal bone, parietal bones, and the abs ...

Rainforests Of The Atsinanana
The Rainforests of the Atsinanana is a World Heritage Site that was inscribed in 2007 and consists of 13 specific areas in six national parks in the eastern part of Madagascar: # Marojejy National Park # Masoala National Park # Zahamena National Park # Ranomafana National Park # Andringitra National Park # Andohahela National Park The Rainforests of the Atsinanana are distributed along the eastern part of the island. These relict forests are critically important for maintaining ongoing ecological processes necessary for the survival of Madagascar’s unique biodiversity, which reflects the island’s geological history. Having completed its separation from all other land masses more than 60 million years ago, Madagascar’s plant and animal life evolved in isolation. The rainforests are inscribed for their importance to both ecological and biological processes as well as their biodiversity and the threatened species they support. Many species are rare and threatened especially l ...

Diospyros
''Diospyros'' is a genus of over 700 species of deciduous and evergreen trees and shrubs. The majority are native to the tropics, with only a few species extending into temperate regions. Individual species valued for their hard, heavy, dark timber, are commonly known as ebony trees, while others are valued for their fruit and known as persimmon trees. Some are useful as ornamentals and many are of local ecological importance. Species of this genus are generally dioecious, with separate male and female plants. Taxonomy and etymology The generic name ''Diospyros'' comes from a Latin name for the Caucasian persimmon ('' D. lotus''), derived from the Greek διόσπυρος : dióspyros, from ''diós'' () and ''pyrós'' (). The Greek name literally means "Zeus's wheat" but more generally intends "divine food" or "divine fruit". Muddled translations sometimes give rise to curious and inappropriate interpretations such as " God's pear" and " Jove's fire". The genus is a large one a ...

Marattia Boivinii
''Marattia'' is a small genus of primitive, large, fleshy eusporangiate ferns. It is the type genus of the family Marattiaceae, order Marattiales and class Marattiopsida. Formerly considered to be a much larger genus, genetic analysis has shown that ''Marattia'' in the broad sense was paraphyletic, and subsequently the genera ''Ptisana'' and ''Eupodium'' were split off. Except for one species in Hawaii, the genus is neotropical. The plants are large and terrestrial, with more or less erect rhizomes and fronds being 2-5 times pinnate. Sporangia are fused into synangia, and spores are monolete. Basal chromosome count is ''2n=80''. The type species is ''M. alata''. Species list *'' Marattia alata'' Sw. – Jamaica and Cuba *'' Marattia douglasii'' (C. Polystichum Setiferum
''Polystichum setiferum'', the soft shield fern, is an evergreen or semi-evergreen fern native to southern and western Europe. The stalks and most midribs are coated with attractive cinnamon-brown scales. The Latin specific epithet ''setiferum'' means “with bristles”. Distribution It is most abundant in Ireland, southwestern Great Britain, western France and northwest Iberia, where it benefits from the combination of mild winters and moist summers, but also occurs more locally north to northern Scotland and east to the Crimea and Turkey; in the Mediterranean it usually grows at high altitudes. It grows in woodlands, often but not always on steep slopes. Description The fern's bright green fronds are long, usually drooping downslope, with typically four to ten fronds on a mature plant. The fronds are soft-textured, bipinnate (single-pinnate on small, young plants), with the pinnae opposite on the stalk. Each pinna is long, with a large upward-pointing pinnule at the bas ...

In cooler climates some species are cultivated outside in summertime for their bright colorful flowers, which have sepals but no petals. Description With 2,002 species, ''Begonia'' is one of the largest genera of flowering plants. The species are terrestrial (sometimes epiphytic) herbs or undershrubs, and occur in subtropical and tropical moist climates, in South and Central America, Africa, and southern Asia. Terrestrial species in the wild are commonly upright- stemmed, rhizomatous, or tuberous. The plants are monoecious, with unisexual male and female flowers occurring separately on the same plant; the male contains numerous stamens, and the female has a large inferior ovary and two ...
