Zach Verhoven
Zachary Thomas Verhoven (born August 17, 1998) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Canadian Premier League club Vancouver FC. Early life Verhoven played youth soccer with Surrey United SC from 2003 to 2009. In 2010, he joined Surrey Guildford United SC. He also played on the British Columbia provincial team. After being part of the Whitecaps Propects program from 2008 to 2010, he officially joined the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy in September 2011. After the Whitecaps released him at the U15 level, he returned to Surrey United where he played until he reached the U18 level. University career In 2016, Verhoven began attending the University of British Columbia, where he played for the men's soccer team. He scored his first goal on September 4, 2016 against the UNBC Timberwolves, while also recording two assists in a 3-1 victory. 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualification (OFC)
The Oceanian section of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification acted as qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, to be held in Qatar, for national teams which are members of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC). A total of 0.5 slots in the final tournament were available for OFC teams, which equated to one inter-confederation play-off slot. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Oceania, the qualification was held as a centralised tournament in Qatar from 17 to 30 March 2022. Format In November 2021, the OFC confirmed the format for the qualifiers in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Fiji national football team is Fiji's national men's team and is controlled by the governing body of football in Fiji, the Fiji Football Association. 2018 CPL–U Sports Draft
The 2018 CPL–U Sports Draft was the inaugural CPL–U Sports Draft, held on November 12, 2018, in Vancouver, British Columbia. Seven Canadian Premier League (CPL) teams selected 21 U Sports athletes in total. The results were announced on November 13. Format A blind draw was used to determine the draft order for the first round. A "snake draft" was used, with the order reversing in the second round, and then reversing back in the third and final round. Clubs have a window of time in which they must submit their pick, and failure to do so results in a pass. There is a break between each round, as well as one timeout per club. However, timeouts can not be used in back-to-back picks.
