Zach Laskey
Zach Laskey (born July 8, 1992) is a former American football fullback. He played college football at Georgia Tech. Professional career Coming out of Georgia Tech, Laskey was ranked a top 10 fullback prospect, but was unfortunately not one of three fullbacks to receive an invitation to attend the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana. On March 13, 2015, Laskey attended Georgia Tech's pro day, along with Shaq Mason, Darren Waller, DeAndre Smelter, and three other prospects. He performed all of the combine and positional drills for team representatives and scouts from 31 NFL teams. At the conclusion of the pre-draft process, Laskey was projected to be a seventh round pick or be signed as an undrafted free agent. He was ranked the eighth best fullback prospect in the draft by NFLDraftScout.com. Fullback (American Football)
A fullback (FB) is a position in the offensive backfield in gridiron football, and is one of the two running back positions along with the halfback. Fullbacks are typically larger than halfbacks and in most offensive schemes the fullback's duties are split among power running, pass catching, and blocking for both the quarterback and the other running back. Many great runners in the history of American football have been fullbacks, including Jim Brown, Marion Motley, Bronko Nagurski, Jim Taylor, Franco Harris, Larry Csonka, John Riggins, Christian Okoye, and Levi Jackson. However, many of these runners would retroactively be labeled as halfbacks, due to their position as the primary ball carrier; they were primarily listed as fullbacks due to their size and did not often perform the run-blocking duties expected of modern fullbacks. DeAndre Smelter
DeAndre Tremaine Smelter (born December 3, 1991) is a former American football wide receiver. He played college football at Georgia Tech. College career Smelter originally was drafted by the Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball in 2010, but turned it down to play college baseball at Georgia Tech. In 2011, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League. After playing three seasons of baseball from 2011 to 2013, primarily as a relief pitcher, shoulder problems caused him to turn to football. Smelter went on to play two seasons as a starting wide receiver for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets edging out Darren Waller on the depth chart. Cory Nicholas Harkey (born June 17, 1990) is a former American football tight end and coach who is the assistant special teams coach for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). He was signed by the St. Louis Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2012 and played college football at UCLA. He is currently an assistant coach for the Buffalo Bills. College career After attending Chino Hills High School, he played college football at UCLA, and played in every game of his college career. Lance Ronnie Kendricks (born January 30, 1988) is a former American football tight end. He played college football at Wisconsin, where he was recognized as a consensus All-American. He was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Early years Kendricks was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended Rufus King International Baccalaureate High School in Milwaukee, where he played for the Rufus King Generals football and basketball teams. In football, he was a two-time all-city selection, the Generals' most valuable player (MVP) as a junior and senior, and the team captain as a senior. Michael John Mario Karney (born July 6, 1981) is a former American football player who was a fullback in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons. A signing bonus or sign-on bonus is a sum of money paid to a new employee (including a professional sports person) by a company as an incentive to join that company. They are often given as a way of making a compensation package more attractive to the employee (e.g., if the annual salary is lower than they desire). The 2015 NFL Draft was the 80th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible football players. It took place in Chicago at the Auditorium Theatre and in Grant Park, from April 30 to May 2. The previous fifty NFL drafts (since 1965) had been held in New York City.
