Yö ( en, night) was a Finnish rock band, formed in 1981 in Pori, Finland. The band has had many line-up changes during their history, and almost 20 different musicians play or have played with the band. Yö's first line-up included singer Olli Lindholm and composer, singer and keyboardist Jussi Hakulinen, guitarist Jani Viitanen, bassist Juha Rauäng and drummer Harri Varhala. Since the late 1980s band has been more or less based in Tampere. Yö's biggest hits include songs like '' Joutsenlaulu'' (Swansong), ''Likaiset legendat'' (Dirty Legends), ''Ihmisen poika'' (Son of a Human), ''Rakkaus on lumivalkoinen'' (Love is Snow-White), ''Särkynyt enkeli'' (Broken Angel), and ''Tia-Maria'' (a Finnish woman's name). The group started with punk rock influenced music but has later moved towards mainstream rock. Olli Lindholm
Olli Lindholm (19 March 1964 – 12 February 2019) was a Finnish singer and guitarist. He was the lead singer of the renowned Finnish band Yö since the early 1980s with a string of hits and albums. In addition, he worked on a solo basis with his own four albums released on various labels including ''Maailma on kaunis'' in 2010 that peaked at number one on The Official Finnish Chart ''Suomen virallinen lista''. Career Olli Lindholm was a founding member of the Finnish rock band Yö. The band was formed in 1981. During his decades long participation in Yö, members of the band had drastically changed, as he was eventually the only original member left. Jussi Pekka Hakulinen (21 December 1964 – 9 August 2022) was a Finnish musician and singer-songwriter. He was one of the original members of the group Yö Yö ( en, night) was a Finland, Finnish rock music, rock band, formed in 1981 in Pori, Finland.
