Yukinori Miyabe
was a Japanese Speed skating, speed skater who competed in the 1992 Winter Olympics and the 1994 Winter Olympics. Speedskating career Born in Katsushika, Tokyo, Miyabe moved to Kushiro when he was 5 years old, and started speedskating. He then moved to Saitama prefecture in the first year of Junior High school and joined Sankyo Seiki. At the 1992 Winter Olympics, he won the bronze medal in the 1000 metres event. In the Speed skating at the 1992 Winter Olympics – Men's 1500 metres, 1500 m competition he finished ninth and in the Speed skating at the 1992 Winter Olympics – Men's 500 metres, 500 m contest he finished 18th. Two years later he finished 14th in the Speed skating at the 1994 Winter Olympics – Men's 1000 metres, 1000 metres event and 21st in the Speed skating at the 1994 Winter Olympics – Men's 1500 metres, 1500 metres competition. The ISU Speed Skating World Cup is a series of international speed skating competitions, organised annually by the International Skating Union since the winter of 1985–86 ISU Speed Skating World Cup, 1985–86. Every year during the winter season, a number of competitions on different distances and on different locations are held. Skaters can earn points at each competition, and the skater who has the most points on a given distance at the end of the series is the winner. Initially not very popular with skaters nor spectators, the World Cup has gradually become more and more popular, and this was due to the creation of the World Single Distance Championships.
