Yugoslavia At The 1996 Summer Olympics
Athletes from the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, United States. These Games were the first Olympic appearance of Montenegrin and Serbian athletes under the Flag of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the continuation of the use of Yugoslavia as a designation. The nation was not allowed to participate at the 1992 Summer Olympics because of international sanctions. Several Yugoslav athletes competed as Independent Olympic Participants at those Games. ''New Yugoslavia'' participated in thirteen sports: athletics, basketball, canoe/kayak, diving, fencing, judo, shooting, swimming, table tennis, volleyball, water polo, weightlifting, and wrestling. Yugoslav Olympic Committee
The Yugoslav Olympic Committee ( hr, Jugoslavenski olimpijski komitet; sr-Cyrl-Latn, Југословенски олимпијски комитет, Jugoslovenski olimpijski komitet, separator=" / "; sl, Jugoslovanski оlimpijski кomite; mk, Југословенски олимписки комитет, translit=Jugoslovenski olimpiski komitet) was the non-profit organization representing Yugoslav athletes in the International Olympic Committee. The YOC organized Yugoslavia's representatives at the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. Željko Rebrača
Željko Rebrača ( sr-cyr, Жељко Ребрача; born April 9, 1972) is a Serbian retired professional basketball player. After playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA), he finished his career with the Spanish ACB League team Pamesa Valencia. Professional career Europe Rebrača began his professional career in 1991, with KK Partizan. With KK Partizan, he won 2 Yugo League championships (1992 and 1995), 3 Yugoslav Cups (1992, 1994, and 1995), and the EuroLeague (1992). In 1995–99, he played in the Italian League for Benetton Treviso, where he won the Italian League championship in 1997, under coach Mike D'Antoni. Nikola Grbić
Nikola Grbić ( sr-cyrl, Никола Грбић; born 6 September 1973) is a Serbian professional volleyball coach and former player, who is currently serving as head coach for the Poland national team. The Olympic Champion Sydney 2000, a bronze medallist in the Olympic Games Atlanta 1996, and a multiple World Championship, European Championship and World League medallist. Andrija Gerić
Andrija Gerić ( sr-cyrl, Андрија Герић, ; born 24 January 1977) is a retired Serbian volleyball player who played on middle blocker position. Both in the club and in the national team he wore number 12. Career Gerić made a debut for the national team on 7 July 1995 in Greece when FR Yugoslavia defeated Greece 0-3. In 2000 in Sydney the Yugoslav national team (members of which were also Vladimir Grbić, Nikola Grbić, Goran Vujević, Ivan Miljković) won the Olympic gold medal. Milenko Topić (; born 6 March 1969) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player. Playing career A power forward, Topić spent most of his professional career playing in the YUBA League, representing Profikolor, BFC Beočin, Crvena zvezda, Budućnost, and Hemofarm. Nikola Lončar (Serbian Cyrillic: Никола Лончар; born May 31, 1972) is a Serbian former professional basketball player. He also holds Spanish citizenship. Professional career Lončar started his career at Partizan, making his professional debut in 1989. With Partizan, he won the Euroleague in 1992. Žarko Paspalj (Serbian Cyrillic: Жарко Паспаљ; born March 27, 1966) is a retired Serbian professional basketball player and sports administrator. The EuroLeague Final Four MVP in 1994, his sixteen and a half seasons career was mostly spent in Yugoslavia and Greece, along with several short stints in the NBA, France, and Italy.
