Ytteren
Ytteren is a village in the municipality of Rana, Norway, Rana in Nordland county, Norway. Ytteren and the neighboring village of Båsmoen are northern suburbs of the town of Mo i Rana. They are both located on the northern edge of the mouth of the Ranelva river at the Ranfjorden. ''Norwegian County Road 12'' runs through the village. The large lake Langvatnet (Rana), Langvatnet lies about north of the village. The village was the old administrative centre of the municipality of Nord-Rana which existed from 1839 until 1964. Ytteren Church
Ytteren Church ( no, Ytteren kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Rana Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Ytteren, a northern suburb of the town of Mo i Rana. It is the main church for the Nord-Rana parish which is part of the Indre Helgeland prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The brick church was built in a Churches in Norway#Floor plan, rectangular style in 1977 using plans drawn up by the architect Nils Toft. The church seats about 500 people. The church was consecrated on 4 September 1977 by Bishop Bjarne Odd Weider. Bossmo & Ytteren Idrettslag is a Norwegian sports club from Nord-Rana, Nordland that has sections for association football, team handball, biathlon and Nordic skiing. The club was founded in 1908. Its best known member is Olympic skier Elin Nilsen Elin Nilsen (born 12 August 1968) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier who competed from 1990 to 2004. Nord-Rana (historically: ''Mo herred'') is a former municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1839 until its dissolution in 1964. From 1839 until 1844, it was named ''Nord-Ranen'', from 1844 until 1923, it was called ''Mo'', and then from 1923 until 1964 it was named ''Nord-Rana''. The former municipality was located at the innermost part of the Ranfjorden. It encompassed the eastern 90% of what is now Rana Municipality. Langvatnet is a lake in the municipality of Rana in Nordland county, Norway. The lake lies just northwest of the town of Mo i Rana. The lake flows out into the river Langvassåga just north of Mo i Rana Airport, Røssvoll. Ranfjorden
The Ranfjorden (or just ''Ranfjord'') is a fjord in the Helgeland district of Nordland county, Norway. The largest part of the fjord is in the municipality of Rana, but the fjord also passes through the municipalities of Hemnes, Vefsn, Leirfjord, Nesna, and Dønna. The Ranelva river meets the Ranfjord in at the town of Mo i Rana at the innermost part of the fjord. It then flows to the west for about to where it meets the sea along the border of Dønna and Nesna municipalities. The inner part of the fjord is lush, forested, and more heavily populated. The western parts of the fjord are narrow with steep sides and that area has few inhabitants. There is a narrow strait that connects to the Sørfjorden and Elsfjorden at the village of Hemnesberget. Two large rivers flow into the fjord: Ranelva and Røssåga. The European route E6 highway follows the part of the southern coast of the fjord on its way to Mo i Rana. Ranelva is a long river in the municipality of Rana, Norway, Rana in Nordland county, Norway. It is one of the longest rivers in Nordland county. The Drainage basin, catchment area of the river is . Before the power stations of ''Reinforsen'' (1925) and Langvatnet (1964) were built, the catchment area was . Path The river begins on the Saltfjellet plateau, near the border between Norway and Sweden, at the confluence of the little rivers ''Randalselva'' ( sma, Goabdesjåhkå) and Gubbeltåga ( smj, Gubbeltædno).
