Your Chance to Die is an American melodic death metal band from Columbia, South Carolina, formed in 2007. Background The band started in 2007 in Columbia, South Carolina, with the lineup of Missi Avila (vocals) and Coca (guitars), Chase Crouch (guitars) and Daniel Todd (drums). The band signed to Red Cord Records, home to bands such as Phinehas, A Past Unknown, and fellow South Carolina band Bloodline Severed in 2011. The lineup at that time was Missi, Coca, Crouch, Todd, and bassist Joshua Crawley. The band released their sophomore album, ''Suscitatio Somnus'' in 2011, and third album, ''The American Dream'' in 2013. In 2015, the band announced new singer, Simone "Som" Pluijmers on dual lead vocals alongside Missi. In May 2016, the band announced new Guitarist Ron Dalton. A Past Unknown was an American Christian metal band from Cedar Falls, Iowa. They were known for playing a metalcore style with a more melodic metalcore sound. The band started making music in 2009, and their members at the time were lead vocalist, Grant Lilly, guitarists, Nick Powell and Trevor Rozendaal, bassist, Dirk Wiese, and drummer, Adam Aalderks. When Aalderks left the band, Jack Van Gent became the drummer. The band released their first studio album, ''To Those Perishing'', in 2011 with Red Cord Records. David Warren Ellefson (born November 12, 1964) is an American musician, best known for his long tenure as the bassist for thrash metal band Megadeth. Ellefson initially became an accomplished bassist and honed his songwriting skills while leading several of his own bands through the club scene of North America's Midwest region before relocating to Los Angeles. He was then the bassist of Megadeth from 1983 to their breakup in 2002, and again from 2010 to 2021.
