''You're in the Super Bowl, Charlie Brown'' is the 37th prime-time animated television special based on Charles M. Schulz's comic strip ''Peanuts''. It premiered on January 18, 1994 on NBC. It was the last new ''Peanuts'' special to air on television until '' A Charlie Brown Valentine'' in 2002, and the last before Schulz's death in 2000. ''You're in the Super Bowl, Charlie Brown'' is notable for being the only ''Peanuts'' television special to debut on NBC; from 1965 to 2000, most ''Peanuts'' specials were aired by CBS. Chuck Dickerson
Chuck "The Coach" Dickerson is a retired position coach in the National Football League and Canadian Football League and former sports radio host in Buffalo, New York. Woodstock is a fictional character in Charles M. Schulz's comic strip ''Peanuts''. He is a small yellow bird and Snoopy's best friend. Snoopy is an anthropomorphic beagle in the comic strip ''Peanuts'' by Charles M. Schulz. He can also be found in all of the ''Peanuts'' films and television specials. Punt, pass and kick (PP&K) was a skills competition offered by the US National Football League for children aged 6 to 15. Overview PP&K began in 1961 and at one time, event highlights were shown by CBS Sports as part of its NFL coverage. The contest received renewed attention in 1995 when Kendra Wecker, a 12-year-old girl from Kansas, made the finals in her age group and competed on an equal basis with male competitors. PP&K later had separate competitions for boys and girls in five different age groups. Winners in each age group are determined by the total distance of their punts, passes, and kicks, as the name implies. Franklin is a fictional character in the comic strip ''Peanuts'', created by Charles M. Schulz. Introduced on July 31, 1968, Franklin was the first African American character in the strip. He goes to school with Peppermint Patty and Marcie. In his first story arc, he met Charlie Brown when they were both at the beach. Franklin's father was a soldier fighting in Vietnam, to which Charlie Brown replied "My dad's a barber... he was in a war too, but I don't know which one." Marcie is a fictional character featured in the long-running syndicated daily and Sunday comic strip ''Peanuts'' by Charles M. Schulz. Marcie is a studious girl who is sometimes depicted as being terrible at sports. She is friends with the tomboyish, athletic Peppermint Patty, who gets annoyed at Marcie when she calls her "sir", and she has a mostly unrequited crush on the underdog Charlie Brown.
