"Yosemite" is a song by American rapper and singer Travis Scott. The song features appearances from fellow American rapper Gunna and Canadian rapper Nav. It was sent to rhythmic contemporary radio, as the third single from Scott's third studio album, '' Astroworld'', on November 20, 2018. The artists wrote the song alongside producers, June James, Turbo, and Ramy. Background and composition The song's title refers to Yosemite National Park, a place that is located in the Sierra Nevada mountain range in the eastern area of California. Gunna delivers a "smooth" guitar-driven melody of the chorus that sets the tone of "Yosemite". Travis Scott in a way matches his cadence on the verse, echoing that of which Gunna used on his single " Sold Out Dates", featuring American rapper Lil Baby, which he released earlier in 2018. Urban Contemporary
Urban contemporary music, also known as urban music, hip hop, urban pop, or just simply urban, is a music radio format. The term was coined by New York radio DJ Frankie Crocker in the early to mid-1970s as a synonym for Black music. Urban contemporary radio stations feature a playlist made up entirely of Black genres such as R&B, pop-rap, quiet storm, urban adult contemporary, hip hop, Latin music such as Latin pop, Chicano R&B and Chicano rap, and Caribbean music such as reggae and soca. Six Flags AstroWorld, also known simply as AstroWorld, was a seasonally operated amusement park in Houston, Texas. Owned and operated by Six Flags, the park was situated between Kirby Drive and Fannin Street, directly south of I-610.
