Yohanan Cohen
Yohanan Cohen ( he, יוחנן כהן, 31 December 1917– May 20, 2013)https://www.knesset.gov.il/mk/eng/mk_eng.asp?mk_individual_id_t=447 was an Israeli politician and diplomat. Biography Born in Łódź (then part of the Russian Empire, though occupied by Germany at the time), Cohen attended high school in Poland before and was active in the HaNoar Hatzioni group, before immigrating to Mandatory Palestine in 1937. He joined the Hagana in 1938, and served as a member of the Jewish Settlement police between 1941 and 1944. During the 1948 Arab-Israeli War he served as a captain in the 19th Golani Brigade, and later served as a lieutenant colonel in the reserves. Following Israeli independence, Cohen became a member of the Histadrut's organising committee, and was also a director of the secretariat of the World Zionist Youth group between 1952 and 1954. Łódź, also rendered in English as Lodz, is a city in central Poland and a former industrial centre. It is the capital of Łódź Voivodeship, and is located approximately south-west of Warsaw. Yeshayahu Forder
Yeshayahu Foerder (, 25 March 1901 – 9 June 1970) was a German–Israeli lawyer and politician who served as a member of the Knesset for the Progressive Party between 1949 and 1957. Biography Born in Charlottenburg, Germany, Foerder studied economics and law at Freiburg, Heidelberg and Königsberg universities, gaining a law doctorate in 1923. He worked as a lawyer in Berlin between 1926 and 1932, and was a member of the directorate and the political secretary of the Zionist Organisation of Germany. He made aliyah to Mandatory Palestine in 1933, and the following year was one of the founders of the Rassco housing company, of which he became general director. He also became chairman of the board of directors at Bank Leumi. Foerder served as a delegate to the Assembly of Representatives for the New Aliyah Party.
