Yngve Hågensen
Yngve Hågensen (born 13 July 1938, in Vardø) is a retired Norwegian labour union leader. From an early age Hågensen has been active in Norwegian organization life and politics. He is most notable for his 12 years in office (1989–2001) as leader of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions. After his last term as trade union leader in 2001 he left the organization, but remains active in Norwegian politics as a political consultant. Hågensen is also part of the electoral campaign of the Norwegian Labour Party. He is also heavily involved in senior citizen related politics and adult education causes. Leif Haraldseth
Leif Haraldseth (30 November 1929 – 8 April 2019) was a Norwegian trade unionist and politician for the Labour Party. Early life He was born in Drammen as a son of worker Hans Haraldseth (1905–1977) and housewife Ingrid (1907–1999). He finished secondary education in 1947, was a delivery boy in the Norwegian State Railways for two years, then attended the Railway School and worked as a telegrapher in the State Railways from 1951 til 1965. Trade unionism and politics In 1965 he was hired as district secretary of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions in Buskerud. In 1969 he was promoted to secretary and in 1977 to vice chairman of the organization. On both occasions he replaced Odd Højdahl. Gerd-Liv Valla
Gerd-Liv Valla (born 25 January 1948 in Korgen, Nordland) is a Norwegian former trade union leader, who served as leader of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO). She took over in 2001 (from former leader, Yngve Hågensen) and resigned in 2007 as a result of the so-called Valla affair. In 1997 she briefly served as Norwegian Minister of Justice. Early life Valla grew up on a farm near Bjerka in Hemnes municipality, Nordland. Their father was active in the Norwegian Agrarian Association, and her brother Nils Valla would become a national leader of this organization. Gerd-Liv Valla moved to Hemnesberget to complete her primary education, and to Mo i Rana for upper secondary school.
