Yle FSR
Yle FSR (Finlands Svenska Radio) was the Swedish-language radio department of Finland's national broadcaster Yle (Yleisradio) The department is responsible for the Swedish-language radio stations of Yle; the speech station Radio Vega and the pop music station Radio X3M. Both these channels are available in areas of Finland where the Swedish-speaking minority is found (mainly the coastal areas). In some parts of the country without a strong Swedish-speaking presence, Radio Vega can be received. Some programmes of FSR's channels are also simulcast on Yle's international radio channel, Radio Finland. Finland Swedish or Fenno-Swedish ( sv, finlandssvenska; fi, suomenruotsi) is a general term for the variety of the Swedish language and a closely related group of Swedish dialects spoken in Finland by the Swedish-speaking population, commonly also referred to as Finland Swedes, as their first language. For the most part, these dialects and the dialects spoken in Sweden are mutually intelligible, although some archaic dialects in Ostrobothnia are practically unintelligible to Swedish-speaking people in southern Finland (and in Sweden). Most Swedish-speaking Finns emphasize that Finland Swedish is not a language separate from the Swedish of Sweden. The Swedish dialects in Finland are considered varieties of Swedish, and the norm for written Standard Swedish is completely applicable also for Finland Swedish. Yle Vega (prior to 1 September 2016 – Yle Radio Vega) is a Finland, Finnish radio channel broadcasting in the Swedish language. It is operated by Finland's national public service broadcaster Yle (known in Swedish as Rundradion), which has its headquarters in Helsinki. The channel provides a wide-ranging service containing both speech and music-based programming. It aims to keep Finland-Swedes informed about the society they live in – with news coverage and discussion of events not only in Swedish-speaking Finland and its localities but also in Finland as a whole as well as the wider world – while, musically, it pays particular attention to Swedish-language songs produced and performed in Finland. Yle X3M ( kstrẹ:m ''Radio Extrem'') is a Finnish Swedish-language radio station, owned and operated by Yle. It is generally aimed at the youth audience, and the target audience is 15- to 30-year-olds. It was established in 1997. In 1998, X3M became one of the first Finnish radio stations with an online broadcast. The studios of Yle X3M are located in Helsinki and Vaasa.
