Yeojin Bae
Yeojin Bae is a South Korean-born Australian women's wear fashion designer. Early life Bae was born in 1975 in Seoul, and moved to Sydney in 1980. In an interview in 2010, Bae said that she had dreams of being a fashion designer from a young age, with her grandfather and both her parents being involved within the fashion industry. From the age of four, Bae began to attend art school. At age 15, she was the youngest student attending the Melbourne Whitehouse Institute of Design, graduating at the age of 17. Career Bae had internships in New York with Marc Jacobs and Anna Sui. Bae won the 2007 Tiffany & Co Young Designer of the Year Award and in 2009 was nominated for the Prix de ''Marie Claire'' Designer of the Year Award. She has achieved international recognition through having her collections sold in the US, UK and UAE. Henri Bendel, Inc. (pronounced BEN-del), established in 1895, was a women's department store based in New York City which in its later history sold women's handbags, jewelry, luxury fashion accessories, home fragrances and gifts. Its New York City store was located at 10 West 57th street. In 1985, when purchased by Limited, the new owner moved the store to 712 Fifth Avenue. Henri Bendel was the first retailer to have its own fragrance, to offer in-store makeovers, and to stage its own fashion show. The retailer is credited with developing the concession, or shop-within-a-shop merchandising concept that is in use in some department stores today. Saba started his fashion business in 1965 with the opening a store in 287 Flinders Lane Melbourne called the Joseph Saba Shirt and Sweater Shop. The Saba store was opened later in Collins Street, Melbourne. In 1969, he established a label for Jeans called "Staggers".
