Yenda
Yenda is a town in the Riverina district of New South Wales, Australia. The town is located about east of Griffith, north-west of Narrandera, and west of Sydney in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area of southern New South Wales. Although most of the original 15-acre farms have been consolidated into large vineyards and most farmhouses have disappeared, farm roads are named after the original settlers. In 1940 Yenda had two clothing stores, two bakers, two butchers, two grocery stores, two barbers, one newsagency, one pharmacy, one cinema, one Greek restaurant and one bank but residents now do their shopping in nearby Griffith. At the , Yenda had a population of 1,503. The area forming part of Yenda is well covered by vineyards, which produce close to 70% of the wine for New South Wales. Group 20 Rugby League
Group 20 is a rugby league competition in the region of Griffith, New South Wales, Griffith, New South Wales, Australia. The competition is played in five grades, with these being Under 16s, Under 18s, Women's League-Tag, Reserve Grade and First Grade. Currently, a home and away season consisting of eighteen rounds is played. The best five teams then play-off according to the Top five play-offs, McIntyre System, culminating in the Group 20 Grand Final, which is traditionally held at E.W. Griffith is a major regional city in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area that is located in the north-western part of the Riverina region of New South Wales, known commonly as the food bowl of Australia. Temora–Roto Railway Line
The Temora–Roto railway line is a partly closed railway line in the southwest of New South Wales, Australia. It branches from the Lake Cargelligo line at the town of Temora and travels west through the northern part of the Riverina to the towns of Griffith and Hillston. A connection to the Broken Hill line created a cross-country route, although this was never utilised to its full potential, and the line beyond Hillston was built to low grade 'pioneer' standards. The line opened in stages in the 1920s. The line is now only used for goods haulage, mainly wheat, and is closed beyond Hillston. Passenger services were operated by CPH type railmotors from 1926 until 1974 when services were withdrawn between Griffith and Hillston. The Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA) is geographically located within the Riverina area of New South Wales. It was created to control and divert the flow of local river and creek systems for the purpose of food production.
