"Yen" is a song by American heavy metal band Slipknot. It was released as the third single from the band's seventh studio album, ''The End, So Far'' on August 5, 2022. Background In an interview with ''Kerrang!'' before the album's release, vocalist Corey Taylor said, "'Yen' is probably one of my favorite songs that we've ever done. And it's such a great, cool departure for us, because there are obviously very Slipknot elements to it, but then some of the music is us kind of touching our inner Tom Waits in weird ways." Music video The song's music video was released on August 22, 2022. Directed by band member Shawn Crahan, it features the band performing in a large, spooky mansion with shots of unnerving, occult-like figures. Slipknot (band)
Slipknot is an American heavy metal band formed in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1995 by percussionist Shawn Crahan, drummer Joey Jordison and bassist Paul Gray. After several lineup changes in its early years, the band settled on nine members for more than a decade: Crahan, Jordison, Gray, Craig Jones, Mick Thomson, Corey Taylor, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn, and Jim Root. Gray died on May 24, 2010, and was replaced during 2011–2014 by guitarist Donnie Steele. Jordison was dismissed from the band on December 12, 2013. Steele left during the recording sessions for '' .5: The Gray Chapter''. The band found replacements in Alessandro Venturella on bass and Jay Weinberg on drums. After the departure of Jordison, the only founding member in the current lineup is percussionist Crahan. "Snuff" is a song by American heavy metal band Slipknot. Released as the fifth and final single from their fourth album ''All Hope Is Gone'' on September 28, 2009, the song charted at number two on the ''Billboard'' Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, their highest-charted single to date, surpassing "Dead Memories". Roadrunner Records placed "Snuff" at number six for its greatest music videos of all time. The song was also nominated for Best Single at the ''Kerrang!'' Awards 2010, but lost to "Liquid Confidence" by You Me at Six. It is the final single released from the band with original bassist Paul Gray before his death eight months after its release and drummer Joey Jordison before his departure in 2013 and death in 2021. The UK Singles Downloads Chart is compiled by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on behalf of the music industry. Since July 2015, the chart week runs from Friday to Thursday, with the chart date given as the following Thursday. The main chart contains the Top 200 downloads (which are published in ''UKChartsPlus''), with the top 100 published on the OCC website. The chart only uses sales of ''permanent digital downloads'', that is single-download tracks on non-subscription online music stores. Some downloading services offer a monthly fee plan where generally an unlimited number of tracks can be downloaded within a month for a certain price.
