Yelena Jemayeva
Yelena Jemayeva (russian: Елена Жемаева, also spelled Elena, born 30 March 1971) is a Russian-born Azerbaijani sabre fencer. She holds a twice World champion (1999, 2000) and European champion (1999). She competed in the individual sabre event at the 2004 Summer Olympics but was upset in the quarterfinals by eventual gold medalist Mariel Zagunis of USA. Jemayeva is married and lives in Moscow. Dolgoprudny (russian: Долгопру́дный, ) is a town in Moscow Oblast, Russia, located about north of Moscow city center. The town's name is derived from Russian "" (''dolgy prud'', lit. "long pond")—a long and narrow pond situated in the northeastern part of the town. The town's name is sometimes colloquially shortened as ''Dolgopa''. Ilgar Yasharovich Mammadov (also spelled Mamedov, russian: Ильгар Яшарович Мамедов, az, İlqar Yaşar oğlu Məmmədov; born 15 November 1965 in Baku, Azerbaijan SSR) is a Soviet and Russian of Azerbaijani origin who serves as President of the Russian Fencing Federation, and a former fencer . Mariel Leigh Zagunis (born March 3, 1985) is an American sabre fencer. She is a two-time Olympic champion in the individual sabre ( 2004 and 2008) and the first American to win a gold medal in Olympic fencing. She was Team USA flag bearer in the 2012 Summer Olympics Parade of Nations. She has two Olympic bronze team medals (in 2008 and 2016) and is a five-time Olympian (2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020).
