All major TV networks in Japan produce a variety of drama series including romance, comedy, detective stories, horror, jidaigeki, thriller, and many others. Single episode, or "tanpatsu" dramas that are usually two hours in length are also broadcast. For special occasions, there may be a one or two-episode drama with a specific theme, such as one produced in 2015 for the 70-year anniversary of the end of World War II. Kazuhiko Shimamoto
is a Japanese people, Japanese Mangaka, manga artist. He attended college at the Osaka University of Arts in the fine arts department. While in college in February 1982, he debuted in the spring special issue of Shōnen Sunday with Hissatsu no Tenkōsei. At this point he dropped out of college and devoted his energies to becoming a Mangaka, manga artist. Shimamoto is responsible for several long-running and well-known manga series. He drew Honō no Tenkōsei from 1983 to 1985, as well as the Moeyo Pen saga, which began as a 1 volume comic published in 1990 but was continued in two more series totaling 24 volumes. He also worked with Shotaro Ishinomori on a Skull Man manga based on Ishinomori's originally intended storyline, which was licensed in the US by Tokyopop. Aoi Honō
is a Japanese coming-of-age manga series written and illustrated by Kazuhiko Shimamoto. It was serialized in Shogakukan's ''seinen'' manga magazine ''Weekly Young Sunday'' from March 2007 to July 2008, when the magazine ceased its publication; a chapter was published in ''YS Special'' in October 2008, before being transferred to Shogakukan's then-brand-new ''shōnen'' manga magazine ''Monthly Shōnen Sunday'' in May 2009. ''Aoi Honō'' is a fictionalized account of Shimamoto's time as a student at the Osaka University of Arts, which he attended alongside Hideaki Anno, Hiroyuki Yamaga, and Takami Akai.
