Yasser Abdel Hafez
Yasser Abdel Hafez (Arabic: ياسر عبد الحفيظ), (born 1969) is an Egyptian novelist and journalist. He was born in Cairo and studied law at Ain Shams University. He has worked as a journalist for the Arabic-language literary journal Akhbar al-Adab for more than 20 years. Abdel Hafez's most notable work is his novel ''On the Occasion of Life'', published in 2005. ''Akhbar Al Adab'' ( ar, أخبار الأدب; ''Cultural News'' in English) is an Arabic weekly literary magazine which is published by state-run Akhbar Al Yawm publishing house. History and profile ''Akhbar Al Adab'' was established by Gamal Al-Ghitani in 1993 as a platform for Egyptian and Arab literary production. Banipal
''Banipal'' is an independent literary magazine dedicated to the promotion of contemporary Arab literature through translations in English. It was founded in London in 1998 by Margaret Obank and Samuel Shimon. The magazine is published three times a year. Since its inception, it has published works and interviews of numerous Arab authors and poets, many of them translated for the first time into English. It is also co-sponsor of the Saif Ghobash–Banipal Prize for Arabic Literary Translation. As of December 2020, 69 issues of ''Banipal'' were published. Mansoura Ez-Eldin
Mansoura Ez-Eldin (Arabic: منصورة عزّ الدين) (born 1976) is an Egyptian novelist and journalist. Biography Mansoura Ez Eldin was born in Delta, Egypt in 1976. She studied journalism at the Faculty of Media, Cairo University, graduating in 1988, and has since published short stories in various newspapers and magazines. She is currently the deputy editor-in-chief of the cultural weekly ''Akhbar Al-Adab''. Her work has also appeared in international publications such as ''The New York Times.'' She published her first collection of short stories, ''Shaken Light,'' in 2001. This was followed by two more short story collections and six novels.
