Yas
Yaser Bakhtiari ( fa, ياسر بختیاری, born 1982 in Rezvanshahr, Gilan province, Iran) better known by his stage name Yas (), is an Iranian rapper. He wears a Faravahar pendant, a symbol of Iranian nationalism and Zoroastrianism. On 21 December 2011 Yas was chosen by the voters as the Artist of the Week in MTV IGGY Entitled Tehran’s Hard-Hitting MC. Yas is one of the founders of Persian rap, and in 2013 he became the first Iranian rapper to be allowed by the Islamic Republic to legally perform in Iran. Early life Yas first began to listen to rap music at the age of 14 his father returned from his business trip in Germany and brought him the latest Tupac album and other hip hop songs and he was heavily influenced by them. Sirvan Khosravi ( fa, سیروان خسروی; born 26 July 1982) is an Iranian singer, songwriter, and music producer. He has produced music for various artists including Xaniar Khosravi, his younger brother, who is also a singer-song writer. Erfan Hajrasooli (), known professionally as Erfan Paydar (), is an Iranian rapper, songwriter, producer, and label owner. He is one of the pioneers of Persian Rap. Erfan's "Az Khaneh Ta Goor" (Persian: از خانه تا گور) was the one of the first professionally produced Iranian rap albums, released by a major record label. 2003 Bam Earthquake
The 2003 Bam earthquake struck the Kerman province of southeastern Iran at 01:56 UTC (5:26 am Iran Standard Time) on December 26. The shock had a moment magnitude of 6.6 and a maximum Mercalli intensity of IX (''Violent''). The earthquake was particularly destructive in Bam, with the death toll amounting to at least 34,000 people and injuring up to 200,000. The effects of the earthquake were exacerbated by the use of mud brick as the standard construction medium; many of the area's structures did not comply with earthquake regulations set in 1989.
