Yannick Tremblay (ice Hockey, Born 1975)
Yannick Tremblay (born November 15, 1975) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Atlanta Thrashers and Vancouver Canucks. Playing career As a youth, Tremblay played in the 1988 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Pointe-aux-Trembles. Tremblay was drafted 145th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. After a three-game stint with the St. John's Maple Leafs, Toronto's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate club, in 1995–96, he spent the next two seasons splitting time between both Maple Leaf clubs. In 1998–99, he played for the parent club full-time; however, he only played in 35 games. The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary Minor league#Ice hockey, developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). The Manitoba Moose are a professional ice hockey team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and a member of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Deutsche Eishockey Liga (for sponsorship reasons called "PENNY Deutsche Eishockey Liga") (; English: ''German Ice Hockey League'') or DEL, is a German professional ice hockey league and the highest division in German ice hockey. 2004–05 NHL Lockout
The 2004–05 NHL lockout was a labor lockout that resulted in the cancellation of the National Hockey League (NHL) season, which would have been its 88th season of play. The main dispute was the league's desire to implement a salary cap to limit expenditure on player salaries, which was opposed by the NHL Players Association (NHLPA), the players' labor union, who proposed an alternative system of revenue sharing. Attempts at collective bargaining before the season began were unsuccessful. The lockout was initiated on September 16, 2004, one day after the expiration of the existing collective bargaining agreement (CBA), which itself had been the result of the 1994–95 lockout. 2004–05 NHL Season
The 2004–05 NHL season was the National Hockey League's 88th season of operation. The entire 1,230-game schedule, that was set to begin in October, was officially canceled on February 16, 2005 due to an unresolved lockout that began on September 16, 2004. The loss of the 2004–05 season's games made the NHL the second North American professional sports league to lose an entire postseason of games because of a labor dispute, the first being the 1994–95 MLB strike, which occurred 10 years prior. It was the first time since 1919, when a Spanish flu pandemic canceled the finals, that the Stanley Cup was not awarded. Ulf Tobias "Toby" Enström (born 5 November 1984) is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League with the Atlanta Thrashers and Winnipeg Jets.
