Yann Barthès
Yann Romain Barthès (born 9 October 1974) is a French journalist, TV presenter and producer, best known for hosting the television programme ''Le Petit Journal (Canal+), Le Petit Journal'' and ''Quotidien''. Life and career Barthès first studied English at the University of Savoy in Chambéry before reorienting to journalism by integrating, between 1995 and 1998, the "Sciences of Information and Communication Institute" at the Bordeaux Montaigne University, in Bordeaux. Barthès became a journalist in 2002 on the show ''+ clair'', a weekly program dealing with media issues, which aired on Saturday afternoons on Canal +. In 2004, he joined ''Le Grand Journal (Canal+), Le Grand Journal'', for which he presented a nightly segment entitled ''Le Petit Journal People'' (''The Little News Report - Celebrities''). Chambéry
Chambéry (, , ; Arpitan: ''Chambèri'') is the prefecture of the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of eastern France. The population of the commune of Chambéry was 58,917 as of 2019, while the population of the Chambéry metropolitan area was 253,430. It has been the historical capital of the Savoy region since the 13th century, when Amadeus V, Count of Savoy, made the city his seat of power. ''Le Petit Journal'' is a French news and entertainment television program that airs every weekday on Canal+, presented by Cyrille Eldin. It was hosted by journalist Yann Barthès from its beginnings in 2004 through to June 2016. ''Quotidien'' () is a French television show, first broadcast 12 September 2016 on the channel TMC. It is presented by Yann Barthès. History On 9 May 2016, Yann Barthès announced that he was leaving Canal+'s '' Le Petit Journal'', a programme which he had presented since it began in 2004. On the same day the TF1 Group announced that it had recruited Barthès to present two new programmes: a daily show on its channel TMC and a weekly show on the TF1 channel. Canal+ later announced that Barthès would be replaced as presenter of ''Le Petit Journal'' by Cyrille Eldin.
