Yang Libing
Yang Libing () is a former Singaporean Mediacorp actress. She was prominently a full-time artiste from 1983 to 2009. Career Yang first entered the entertainment industry during the 1984 after she attended the SBC's drama training course with her older sister Yang Lina. She starred in the long-running hit drama ''Wok of Life'' and won the Best Supporting Actress award at the Star Awards 1999. Yang left the entertainment industry in 2009 to focus into business and operated a hair salon with her sister Yang Lina which was opened in 2004. Yang had appeared in several of MediaCorp's anniversary events and was one of many former artistes present at the Star Awards 2012. Yang (; ) is the transcription of a Chinese family name. It is the sixth most common surname in Mainland China. It is the 16th surname on the ''Hundred Family Surnames'' text. An Ode To Life () is a 40-episode blockbuster Chinese drama aired in Singapore. It was telecast in August 2004. The show is set in the 1970s and goes through history all the way to the modern days of the 2000s. The Star Awards (Chinese: 红星大奖) are awards for artistic and technical merit in the media organisation Mediacorp of Singapore where Mediacorp recognises entertainers under their employment for outstanding performances of the year. The awards are given annually in a ceremony. The various category winners are awarded a trophy, with initial designs featuring various star shapes. The star was subsequently removed and the trophy is designed as a S shaped column, depicting the star. History The 1st Star Awards presentation was held on 26 February 1994, took place at the Caldecott Broadcast Centre, MediaCorp TV Theatre with an audience of about 500 people. Synopsis The story is about Ren Niang, who attempts to find success and happiness in his life.
