Yang Chin-long
Yang Chin-long (; born 5 June 1953) is a Taiwanese economist and the current Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of China. Yang received a master's degree from National Chengchi University and earned a doctoral degree in economics from the University of Birmingham. In 1989, Yang began working for the Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Yang was named deputy governor of Taiwan's central bank in 2008. Yang (; ) is the transcription of a Chinese family name. It is the sixth most common surname in Mainland China. It is the 16th surname on the ''Hundred Family Surnames'' text. The Yang clan was founded by Boqiao, son of Duke Wu of Jin in the Spring and Autumn Period of the Ji (姬) surname, the surname of the royal family during the Zhou dynasty ) who was enfeoffed in the state of Yang. Shea Jia-dong (; born 9 October 1948) is a Taiwanese politician. Education Shea obtained his doctoral degree from Stanford University in the United States in 1978. Career After finishing his doctoral degree, Shea went back to Taiwan to work for the Institute of Economics, where he was an associate research fellow from 1978 to 1982 and a research fellow from 1982 to 2000. Richard C. Koo ( ja, リチャード・クー, ; ; born 1954) is a Taiwanese-American economist living in Japan specializing in balance sheet recessions. He is Chief Economist at the Nomura Research Institute. Early life and education Koo was born in Kobe. His father, Koo Kwang-ming, was an activist in the Taiwan independence movement then living in exile in Japan, and the brother of the prominent Taiwanese businessman Koo Chen-fu. Koo lived in Tokyo for 13 years in his youth, and later attended the University of California, Berkeley where he received a BA degree in Political Science and Government in 1976. He then proceeded to Johns Hopkins University for graduate school, where he received an MA degree in 1981.
