Yamaha XT 600
The Yamaha XT 600 is a motorcycle manufactured by Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha. It was built from 1984 to 2003 in different versions. Model history The ''XT 600'' is considered to be an all-purpose Enduro, which is suitable for use on the road as well as off-road driving. Its disc brakes, four-valve engine, mono-shock absorber (mono Cross) and contemporary 12-volt electrics represented significant improvements over the 1975 model Yamaha XT 500. The first XT 600 was introduced in June 1983, the XT 600ZL Ténéré 4Lbased on the XT 550 engine, kick start only, with the 30-Litre white tank. In 1984 the basic XT 600 was introduced to "replace" the XT 550. Yamaha Motor
is a Japanese multinational manufacturer of motorcycles, marine products such as boats and outboard motors, and other motorized products. Yamaha XT 500
The Yamaha XT500 is a twin-valve single-cylinder enduro-adventure motorcycle made by Yamaha from 1975 until 1989. It shares its power plant with the street version SR500 and its off-road brother, the Yamaha TT500. All parts such as the transmission and chassis were produced in Japan. The first XT 500 was shown at the US dealer convention in September 1975, and in Europe in the summer of 1976. The bike became an instant success and was produced until 1981 when it was replaced by four-valve engines. It laid the ground for the later range of XT bikes ranging from 125 cc ( XT125) to the current 660 cc (Yamaha XT660Z Ténéré) and contributed largely to Yamaha's image. Yamaha SRX
The Yamaha SRX is a motorcycle that was manufactured from 1985 to 1997 by the Yamaha Motor Company. Not to be confused with the Yamaha Sidewinder SRX, which is a snowmobile. In an attempt to repeat the success of the SR500, Yamaha placed a more modern engine derived from the XT600 into a light, sporty street bike. While still being an air-cooled, overhead-camshaft single-cylinder like its predecessor, the new engine featured a four-valved cylinder head, a two-staged carburetor, a balance shaft, and various improvements. The chassis was a lightweight steel frame with alloy wheels, a double disc brake on the front- and a single disc brake on the rear wheel. However, unlike its cheaper predecessor, the SRX600 did not compete well on the international market. Nimble handling, light weight, and unique styling did not compete well with the heavier, faster multi-cylinder bikes available for a similar price. Kick Start
Kick start is a method of starting an internal combustion engine (usually that of a motorcycle) by pushing a ratcheting lever with one's foot. Kick start mechanisms were almost universally a part of motorcycle engines before the mid-1970s, and were phased out of production over the next twenty years or so as electric starters became standard equipment. There are still some motorcycles produced that have both kick and electric starters. Many mopeds and scooters also carry both a kick start and an electric start, the former being useful in case the latter fails, as scooter and moped batteries tend to be smaller and, as a result, run down much faster than other forms of automotive batteries. Also, it is usually not possible to push start a moped or scooter with automatic transmission. Electric Starter
A starter (also self-starter, cranking motor, or starter motor) is a device used to rotate (crank) an internal-combustion engine so as to initiate the engine's operation under its own power. Starters can be electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic. The starter can also be another internal-combustion engine in the case, for instance, of very large engines, or diesel engines in agricultural or excavation applications. Internal combustion engines are feedback systems, which, once started, rely on the inertia from each cycle to initiate the next cycle. In a four-stroke engine, the third stroke releases energy from the fuel, powering the fourth (exhaust) stroke and also the first two (intake, compression) strokes of the next cycle, as well as powering the engine's external load.
