Motorcycles
A motorcycle (motorbike, bike, or trike (if three-wheeled)) is a two or three-wheeled motor vehicle steered by a handlebar. Motorcycle design varies greatly to suit a range of different purposes: long-distance travel, commuting, cruising, sport (including racing), and off-road riding. Motorcycling is riding a motorcycle and being involved in other related social activity such as joining a motorcycle club and attending motorcycle rallies. The 1885 Daimler Reitwagen made by Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach in Germany was the first internal combustion, petroleum-fueled motorcycle. In 1894, Hildebrand & Wolfmüller became the first series production motorcycle. Globally, motorcycles are comparably popular to cars as a method of transport. In 2021, approximately 58.6 million new motorcycles were sold around the world, fewer than the 66.7 million cars sold over the same period. In 2014, the three top motorcycle producers globally by volume were Honda (28%), Yamaha (17% ...

Yamaha RD350
The RD350 is a two-stroke motorcycle produced by Yamaha from 1973 to 1975. It evolved directly from the piston port (pre-reed valve intake tract), front drum-braked, five-speed Yamaha 350 cc "R5". The engine is an air-cooled, parallel twin, six-speed (in some markets, such as the UK, the first model was sold in five-speed form), reed valve-equipped intake tract two-stroke engine. The bike is usually referred to as a sport bike. All models were equipped with "Autolube" automatic oil injection, relieving the user from the need to mix gasoline and two-stroke oil. Rim sizes are 18" WM2 (1.85") front and 18" WM3 (2.15") rear, both being of chromed, wire spoked steel construction. In the UK, rim sizes were 1.60 front and 1.85 rear. Brakes are: single front disc brake and a rear drum brake, a combination described by ''Cycle Magazine'' as the best in its class. The frame dimensions of the street ''350'' are very similar to the Yamaha TZ 250 and TZ 350 series factory road race bikes ...

Yamaha RD250
The Yamaha RD250 is a two-stroke motorcycle produced by Yamaha Motor Corporation between 1973 and 1987. Four generations of RD (also known as the RZ250 in the Japanese and Australian markets) were produced: the air-cooled models from 1973 up to 1979, and from 1980 until 1987 the liquid cooled models; known as the RD250LC, RD250LC-II and RD250 YPVS. The name RD stood for Race Developed. The standard bike weighed 152 kg dry and had a 247cc 2-stroke twin engine that produced 30 hp. It had a 6 speed gearbox and chain final drive. In 1983 the UK government reduced the maximum cc for learners to 125, killing off the 250 cc motorcycle class in a stroke. At the time, it was considered that the reason for the sudden change in the law was the RD250 which put a high-speed vehicle into the hands of inexperienced users. Yamaha R5
The Yamaha R5 is a motorcycle made by Yamaha for production years 1970 (R5), 1971 (R5B) and 1972 (R5C). It was the first iteration of a new generation of horizontally split crankcase two strokes that also included the RD350 and culminated in the RD400. The engine platform also included the 250cc variants (DS7/RD250). Two earlier generations of sporting 250cc and larger displacement air-cooled two strokes preceded the R5 dating back to 1959. History Yamaha began producing air-cooled "sport tuned" 250cc twin cylinder roadsters in 1959. Development led to increased capacity in 1965 to 305cc (YM1) and in 1967 to 350cc YR1. These are the ancestral predecessors to the 1970 350cc R5 and represent two different generations of engine evolution and design. The 1967 YR1, 1968 YR2 and 1969 R3 (YR3) directly preceded the R5 and were Yamaha's first publicly available 350cc capacity air-cooled, two stroke twins. The R5 was superseded by the 1973-1975 RD350 and 1976-1979 RD400. Several technical ...

Yamaha IT175 belongs to the 'International Trial' family of motorcycles, produced during the 1970s and 1980s. The machine is derived from the Yamaha YZ range of competition motocross bikes with modifications for use in competition enduro, hare and hounds and trail riding. The bike uses an air-cooled, two-stroke, single-cylinder engine with pre-mixed fuel. It is kick start only. There are three derivations of the machine for the global market. A U.S. and Canada market version, a European version and an Oceanic version for other World markets. The IT bikes were designed and sold as enduros and can still be plated and registered today, provided you make the necessary modifications to the tail light. Another option is to get a historical plate and use the old brake signal along with your other hand signals for turning. Other bikes in the IT range include IT125, IT200, IT250, IT425, IT465 and IT490. The IT range was superseded by the WR (Wide Ratio) in 1991 with the introduction of ...
