Yakari
''Yakari'' is a Franco-Belgian comic book series, aimed at a younger audience, originally written by Job, and illustrated by Derib, both from Switzerland. The series is now written by Frenchman Joris Chamblain. ''Yakari'' is one of the best-known Franco-Belgian comics in Europe. Yakari has (on two occasions, 1983 and 2005) been adapted into a cartoon series on television. A French animated movie adaptation was released in 2020. Concept Yakari is a young Sioux Native American who has the ability to understand and speak animal languages. During his adventures, he meets all sorts of North American animals. His best friends are a Sioux girl, "Rainbow", a Sioux boy "Buffalo Seed" and his pony "Little Thunder". He has a totem animal, "Great Eagle", who frequently appears to him to give him critical advice. The setting is the North American Great Plains, mainly. Job (comics)
Job (born André Jobin on 25 October 1927) is a Swiss francophone comics creator. He is probably best known for his western children's comics series ''Yakari'', of which he has written the scripts from 1973 until 2016. Biography André Jobin was born in Delémont, Switzerland. He became a journalist and founded ''Le Crapaud à lunettes'' in 1964, a magazine for children. In 1967, he met Derib and hired him. In 1967 they published ''The Adventures of the Owl Pythagore'' together. In 1969, he created the series Yakari, drawn by Derib. In 1991, he was awarded with the Masters of Honor at the Sierre Comics Festival for his career. In 2016 wrote his last story about Yakari. Joris Chamblain will now continue with Derib. Le Lombard
''Le Lombard'', known as ''Les Éditions du Lombard'' until 1989, is a Belgian comic book publisher established in 1946 when ''Tintin'' magazine was launched. Le Lombard is now part of Média-Participations, alongside publishers Dargaud and Dupuis, with each entity maintaining its editorial independence. History Les Éditions du Lombard was established by Raymond Leblanc and his partners in 1946. Wanting to create an illustrated youth magazine, they decided that the already well-known ''Tintin'' would be the perfect hero. Business partner André Sinave went to see Tintin creator Hergé to propose creating the magazine. Hergé, who had worked for ''Le Soir'' during the war, was being prosecuted for having collaborated with the Germans and did not have a publisher at the time. Breton Language
Breton (, ; or in Morbihan) is a Southwestern Brittonic language of the Celtic language family spoken in Brittany, part of modern-day France. Kermode Bear
The Kermode bear, sometimes called the spirit bear (''Ursus americanus kermodei''), is a subspecies of the American black bear and lives in the Central and North Coast regions of British Columbia, Canada. It is the official provincial mammal of British Columbia and symbol of Terrace, British Columbia. While most Kermode bears are black, between 100 and 500 fully white individuals exist. The white variant is known as spirit bear, and is most common on three islands in British Columbia ( Gribbell, Princess Royal, and Roderick), where they make up 10–20% of the Kermode population.
