Yaaraa Productions is a Maldivian film production company based in Malé producing Maldivian films. History The company's first production was Aishath Rishmy and Aminath Rasheedha's debut direction ''Hukuru Vileyrey'' (2006), which was based on a novel published by Ibrahim Waheed on ''Haveeru Daily'' 3 years before. The film was a commercial success. It was considered as "one of the few acceptable horror movies the Maldives film industry has ever produced". The film was later released as a 15 episode television series with the inclusion of several clips that were cut from the theatrical release. The company then went on to produce a family drama film ''Fanaa'' (2010) which was directed by Aishath Rishmy. Based on a novel published by Waheed titled ''Balgish'', the film received a mixed to negative response from critics; Ali Naafiz from ''Haveeru Daily'' classified the film as the "worst Maldivian film released so far" during the year. Ahmed Saeed is a Maldivian film actor and director. Career 1997–2010: Debut and early releases On 13 June 1997, Saeed made his screen debut in a video single alongside Hassan Afeef and Mariyam Nisha. Afterwards, he played a role in Yoosuf Rafeeu's ''Dhiriulhumakee Mieebaa?''. Mariyam Shakeela is a Maldivian film actress. Career 1992–2007: Early releases After completing her education in MCS and EPS, Shakeela married to comedian Yoosuf Rafeeu who was then a producer and news presenter at Television Maldives. A week after their marriage, Rafeeu requested her to feature in a film for a replacement of an actor who opted out of the film due to personal reasons. Mariyam Azza (born 20 April 1989) is a Maldivian film actress. She is the daughter of actress Aminath Rasheedha and younger sister to actress turned director Aishath Rishmy Early life Born in Malé, Azza is the daughter of actress Aminath Rasheedha and the sister of actress Aishath Rishmy. Yoosuf Shafeeu also known as Eupe (20 October 1975) is a Maldivian film actor, editor, writer, and director. Ravee Farooq is a Maldivian actor, director, editor and choreographer. Career Farooq made his film debut with Abdul Faththaah-directed romantic disaster film, '' Hureemey Inthizaarugaa'' (2005) cast along with Mariyam Zuhura, Waleedha Waleed, Ibrahim Jihad and Neena Saleem. Kundan Shah (19 October 1947 – 7 October 2017), was an Indian film director and writer. He is known for his comedy classic ''Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro'' (1983) and his 1986–1987, TV series ''Nukkad'' with Saeed Akhtar Mirza. Biography Kundan Shah was born in a Gujarati family.
