Yūki Meguro
Yūki Meguro ( ja, 目黒祐樹) is a Japanese actor. He is the son of jidaigeki actor Jūshirō Konoe and had an older brother Hiroki Matsukata. He was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for his work in Shōgun in 1981's Emmy award. Jūshirō Konoe
was a famous jidaigeki actor. He was born Toraichi Meguro in Nagaoka, Niigata. Debuting at Ajia Eiga in 1934, Konoe appeared in jidaigeki at Daito Eiga, Shochiku, and Toei, the latter having him star in a popular series about Yagyu Jubei. Konoe was known for his dazzling swordplay and appeared in over 200 movies and TV dramas. He retired in 1973 due to his worsening diabetes. Akō Rōshi (1979 TV Series)
is a Japanese television jidaigeki or period drama that was broadcast in 1979. It is based on Jirō Osaragi's novel of the same title. It depicts the story of the revenge of the forty-seven rōnin of Ako against Lord Kira from Hotta Hayato's point of view. Kaneto Shindo was in charge of the script for several episodes. Plot Set in the eighteenth century, during the reign of the fifth Tokugawa shōgun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi. Akō-han is demolished by the Tokugawa shogunate. Hotta Hayato is a ronin who is living a desperate life because of his sad past. But one day he starts working for Chisaka Takafusa, the Chief retainer(Karō) of the Uesugi clan. It is adapted from the 1978 film ''Shogun's Samurai'' starring Sonny Chiba, who reprises his role in the series. Hiroki Matsukata
, better known by his stage name , was a Japanese actor. He was the son of ''jidaigeki'' actor Jūshirō Konoe and actress Yaeko Mizukawa and has a younger brother, Yūki Meguro, who is also an actor. With ex-wife actress Akiko Nishina he had two children; son Masaki Nishina and daughter Hitomi Nishina are both in the entertainment industry. Career As a young man, he aspired to be a singer, but turned to acting, making his debut while still in high school. His first film was 1960's for Tōei, where his father worked. He specialized in romantic leads in ''jidaigeki'' and yakuza films. But he soon switched to modern yakuza for films such as ''Bakuto'' (1964) and ''Showa Zankyoden'' (1965), and starred in Kinji Fukasaku's '' Blackmail Is My Life'' (1968).
