Yıldız Moran
Yıldız Moran (; 24 July 1932 – 15 April 1995) was a Turkish photographer who was active from 1950 to 1962. Her work has posthumously been shown in solo exhibitions at Pera Museum and at İstanbul Modern in Istanbul, and is held in the collection of the latter. Life and work Moran attended Robert College in Istanbul, leaving in her senior year. Following the advice of her uncle, art historian , she then moved to the UK and studied photography at Bloomsbury Technical College in London, and later at Ealing Technical College. She was active as a photographer from 1950 to 1962, when she gave up photography for lexicography. Moran married poet Özdemir Asaf in 1963 and had three children in four years. The ''Hürriyet Daily News'', formerly ''Hürriyet Daily News and Economic Review'' and ''Turkish Daily News'', is the oldest current English-language daily in Turkey, founded in 1961. Pera Museum
Pera Museum ( Turkish: ''Pera Müzesi'') is an art museum in the Tepebaşı quarter of the Beyoğlu (Pera) district in Istanbul, Turkey, at Meşrutiyet Avenue No. 65 (adjacent to İstiklal Avenue and in close proximity to Taksim Square.) It has a particular focus on Orientalism in 19th-century art. History The Pera Museum was founded by the ''Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation'' in 2005. The museum is located in the historic building of the former ''Bristol Hotel'', which was designed by architect Achille Manoussos and built in 1893. It was renovated between 2003 and 2005 by architect Sinan Genim, who preserved the facade of the building and transformed the interior into a modern and fully equipped museum. İstanbul Modern, a.k.a. Istanbul Museum of Modern Art, ( tr, İstanbul Modern Sanat Müzesi) is a museum of contemporary art in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, Turkey. Inaugurated on December 11, 2004, the museum focuses on artists from Turkey. Levent Çalıkoğlu is the Museum Director General, and Oya Eczacıbaşı serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors. Location The museum opened in a former maritime warehouse called Antrepo #4, repurposed by Tabanlıoğlu Architects. Located on the Bosphorus in the Tophane neighborhood, this site features exhibition spaces on both floors. Lexicography is the study of lexicons, and is divided into two separate academic disciplines. Özdemir Asaf
Özdemir Asaf (11 June 1923, Ankara - 28 January 1981, Istanbul) was one of the prominent Turkish poets during the early Republican period. Biography Life He was born on 11 June 1923 in Ankara. His real name is Halit Özdemir Arun. His father, Mehmet Asaf, is one of the founders of the Council of State. In 1930, the year his father died, he entered the first part of Galatasaray High School. In 1941, in the 11th grade, he went to Kabataş High School for Boys with an additional exam and graduated in 1942. He attended the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Economics (until the 3rd grade), and the Faculty of Journalism for one year. Meanwhile, he worked for Tanin and Zaman newspapers and made translations.
